Chapter Trophy Unlock Timeline
Chapter-by-Chapter Guide
Prologue โ In the Beginning
Overview
The prologue introduces Bruce Wayne training at the League of Shadows. You play as young Bruce alongside Talia al Ghul, learning the fundamentals of the combat system โ counter timing, gadget use, and the grapple. Inspired by Batman Begins and DC comic origins. The trophy pops at the prologue's final cutscene.
Tips
- The prologue is the best place to practice active counter timing โ enemies telegraph attacks clearly
- Don't skip the tutorial prompts โ the gadget tutorial here is the only time the game formally explains the system
- Several small collectibles are visible in the League compound โ grab them before progressing
- Talia's acrobatic traversal is unique to this section โ enjoy it while it lasts
One Bad Day โ Chapter One
Overview
Batman's first nights in Gotham. The main villain is Carmine Falcone and his crime family. Jim Gordon joins as a companion character โ you'll alternate between Batman's gadgets and Gordon's police investigations. Visual aesthetic draws from Tim Burton's 1989 Gotham. The title is a nod to Alan Moore's The Killing Joke.
Tips & Collectibles
- Gordon's unique ability is police scanner โ use it on highlighted objects to reveal hidden paths
- The Gotham docks area has 3 WayneTech Caches visible from the main mission path โ don't miss them
- Chapter 1's boss is Falcone โ he has no special mechanic, but spawns gunmen at low health. Counter them before re-engaging
- Stud multiplier trick: smash every environment object before fighting โ studs from combat count toward totals but objects yield more
"Do I look like I'm joking?" โ Chapter Two
Overview
The Joker arrives in Gotham and the chaos begins. Chapter 2 is heavily inspired by Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight โ references to the bank heist, Gotham Hospital, and the interrogation scene abound. Catwoman joins as a companion in the second half. The chapter ends with one of the game's most visually impressive set pieces.
Tips & Collectibles
- Catwoman's whip grapple reaches collectibles that Batman's Batarang can't โ look up frequently
- The Gotham Hospital environment has a Red Brick hidden on the roof of the west wing โ requires Catwoman to reach
- Joker doesn't fight directly in this chapter โ he sends waves of henchmen. Focus the armoured ones first
- The interrogation room scene is one of the best moments in the game โ don't skip the cutscene
The Dynamic Duo โ Chapter Three
Overview
Dick Grayson joins Batman as Robin. The chapter covers his origin โ the circus tragedy, Bruce taking him in, and his first nights in Gotham as Batman's partner. Robin's acrobatic combat style contrasts sharply with Batman's more methodical approach. The tone here is the lightest in the game โ plenty of LEGO humour and slapstick alongside the emotional beats.
Tips & Collectibles
- Robin's unique ability: acrobatic pole vault to reach high platforms Batman can't grapple to
- Several Batcave Trophies in this chapter require Robin's acrobatics โ a second pass may be needed if you rush
- The circus environment in the first act is packed with Studs โ don't miss the big top interior
- Chapter 3 boss: Two-Face. His coin mechanic determines his attack pattern โ counter when he flips
An Endless Winter โ Chapter Four
Overview
Mr. Freeze turns Gotham into an ice fortress. Batgirl joins as the chapter's companion character โ her tech-hacking ability unlocks doors and reveals environmental secrets unavailable to other characters. The chapter draws from both Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin (for the ice aesthetic and Freeze's visual design) and the animated series (for Freeze's emotional backstory).
Tips & Collectibles
- Batgirl's hack ability is the most useful tool for collectible hunting โ she can open locked doors
- Many WayneTech Caches in this chapter are behind hacking terminals โ only Batgirl can access them
- Mr. Freeze boss: stay mobile constantly โ his freeze ray creates hazard zones that slow Batman. Never stand still
- The Gotham rooftop section has the highest Stud density in any chapter โ smash everything before moving on
- This chapter's Red Brick is on top of Gotham City Hall โ requires Batgirl's hack to unlock the elevator
"Introduce a little anarchy" โ Chapter Five
Overview
The game's narrative peak. Batman visits Arkham to interrogate Joker โ a near-perfect recreation of Arkham Asylum's opening, except it immediately subverts it into a hilarious spoof of The Dark Knight's interrogation scene. Then: Arkham prison break, Scarecrow hallucination sequences, and the arrival of Bane โ voiced by Matt Berry in the most inspired casting decision in any game this year. This is why you buy this game.
Tips & Collectibles
- The Scarecrow hallucination sections have unique collectibles that only appear during the dream sequences โ they don't return in free roam
- Arkham Asylum recreation area has 4 WayneTech Caches in tight proximity โ easiest cache cluster in the game
- Bane boss fight: his charge is always telegraphed by a glowing yellow indicator. Dodge sideways, never backward
- Nightwing's electrified gadgets are the most effective weapons against Bane โ spam his electric charge attack
- The Arkham East courtyard has a hidden Batcave Trophy behind a breakable wall only reachable by Robin's pole vault (requires returning post-story)
The Dark Knight Rises โ Chapter Six
Overview
The veteran era โ Batman at the height of his technology and experience. Chapter 6 is the densest Batman fan service in any chapter, packed with references to Knightfall, Hush, No Man's Land, and The Dark Knight Returns. The full Gotham open world is active here. Completing the chapter's final mission unlocks the Gold "A hero can be anyone." trophy and opens all post-game content.
Tips
- All six characters are available in this chapter โ experiment with combinations
- The final boss draws mechanics from every previous chapter โ have all upgrades purchased before entering
- Don't rush the final confrontation โ explore the chapter environment first; some Red Bricks are only accessible during the story version of this area
- After completing this chapter, the trophy pops during the credits sequence โ sit through it
30+ Natural Bronze Trophies
Beyond the chapter completion trophies, approximately 30 bronze trophies unlock naturally through story progression. These cover: unlocking each playable character for the first time, visiting each of Gotham's districts for the first time, reaching certain Stud milestones, completing your first crime, using co-op for the first time, and riding each vehicle type. None require deliberate action โ simply play the game naturally and they all pop.
