Complete every side activity in Gotham. This is the largest single post-story task and covers all crime encounters, AR Trial challenges, Puzzle Rooms, and world events across all seven of Gotham's districts. Use the map's activity filter to track what's remaining per district โ work district by district rather than bouncing randomly around the city.
- Complete all 50+ crime encounters across all 7 Gotham districts
- Complete all 12 AR Trial challenges (Bronze medal minimum required)
- Complete all 15 Puzzle Rooms
- Complete all world event alerts (glowing orange beacons on the map)
- Defeat all 7 Gotham villain hideouts (purple skull icons on map)
Seven Districts โ What to Expect
Gotham is divided into seven explorable districts. Each has its own crime density, AR Trial challenges, and collectible spread. Districts become fully accessible progressively through story chapters โ Chapter 6 opens the final two districts.
๐๏ธ Downtown Gotham
Densest crime area. Start here post-story. Most crimes involve Joker's henchmen and Falcone's gang remnants. Highest Stud yield per district.
๐ The Narrows
Narrow streets make grapple traversal essential. Several crimes require Batgirl's hack to access locked buildings. Underground villain hideout here.
๐๏ธ Gotham Heights
Upscale district. Crimes are spread vertically โ use the Batglider to reach roof-level encounters. Features a two-phase villain hideout.
๐ญ Industrial District
Largest district by area. Crime locations are scattered โ use the Batcycle for speed. Home to the game's hardest AR Trial challenge (moving target precision).
๐ฟ Robinson Park
Planted with Poison Ivy-themed environmental hazards that count as world events. Several crimes here involve Ivy's henchmen with unique plant-shield immunity.
๐ข Gotham Harbour
Partially on water โ the Batwing and Batboat are most useful here. Contains the game's only water-based crime encounters.
๐ผ Old Gotham
Smallest district. Opens fully in Chapter 6. Dense with historical references and Easter eggs. Easiest AR Trial in the game is here โ hover challenge.
Stop 50 crime encounters across all Gotham districts. Crimes appear as red siren icons on the map and minimap โ they respawn regularly, so you'll exceed 50 through normal play long before clearing every district. The trophy pops at exactly 50 stops โ well before full city completion.
- Crimes come in three types: Muggings (quick melee), Break-ins (puzzle + combat), and Getaway Chases (vehicle pursuit)
- Getaway chases require the Batmobile or Batcycle โ keep one equipped for quick response
- Downtown Gotham has the highest crime respawn rate โ fastest 50-crime farming if needed
- Some crimes require specific characters (e.g. a hack terminal crime needs Batgirl) โ return with the right character if locked out
- Completing all crimes in a district fully (every type) contributes toward the Gold trophy โ track per-district progress in the map filter
Complete all 12 AR Trial challenges with at least a Bronze medal. AR Trials are Augmented Reality challenge scenarios that appear at specific rooftop and open-air locations across Gotham โ orange holographic portals. They range from traversal time trials to combat gauntlets to target-shooting exercises.
| # | AR Trial | District | Tips |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rooftop Sprint Grapple-traverse 20 buildings in 90 sec | Downtown | Stay in a tight circuit โ don't grapple across the district. Use the Batglider between grapple swings to maintain speed |
| 2 | Combat Gauntlet I Defeat 15 enemies using only gadgets | Downtown | Batarang chain counts โ throw at first enemy to chain to group. Each throw resets the gadget-only counter |
| 3 | Target Practice Hit 30 targets with Batarangs in 60 sec | The Narrows | Aim slightly ahead of moving targets. Static targets appear in rows โ fan throws hit multiple at once |
| 4 | Stealth Circuit Take down 8 enemies without being spotted | Gotham Heights | Use vantage points. Gargoyle drop-takedowns are the safest. Each enemy has a limited patrol cone |
| 5 | Glider Precision Pass through 15 ring gates while gliding | Gotham Heights | The rings curve โ commit to the turn early. Don't attempt to steer sharply at the last moment |
| 6 | Moving Target Run Hit 20 moving targets within 45 sec | Industrial District | Hardest AR Trial. Lead your throw by a full second. The pattern is consistent across attempts โ learn the trajectory after a few runs |
| 7 | Combat Gauntlet II Defeat 20 enemies without being hit | Industrial District | Counter every flashing yellow indicator before attacking. Don't initiate combos with more than 2 enemies in range |
| 8 | Vehicle Sprint Drive through 25 checkpoints in 2 min | Industrial District | Use the fastest Batmobile variant unlocked. Boost between checkpoints, brake only for tight corners |
| 9 | Nature Trail Navigate Robinson Park maze in 3 min | Robinson Park | Follow the yellow trail indicators from above using the Batglider โ the maze path is clear from height, confusing at ground level |
| 10 | Harbour Patrol Stop 5 Batboat getaway vehicles | Gotham Harbour | Boost toward their stern โ ramming from the side counts as a stop. Keep boost charged at all times |
| 11 | Aerial Combat Defeat 10 enemies using only aerial attacks | Gotham Harbour | Jump before every attack โ aerial melee chains naturally. Don't land mid-combo |
| 12 | Hover Circuit Hover through 20 rings using the Batwing | Old Gotham | Easiest AR Trial in the game. Rings are wide and forgiving. Just maintain altitude and follow the path |
Complete all 15 Puzzle Rooms scattered across Gotham. Puzzle Rooms are closed doors marked with a green question mark icon on the map โ inside each one is a self-contained puzzle that uses the current chapter's available character abilities. They're the most inventive content in the open world.
- Each Puzzle Room is self-contained โ you don't need to bring specific items, just the right character
- 5 Puzzle Rooms require Batgirl's hack to open the entrance door
- 4 Puzzle Rooms require Robin's pole vault to reach the entrance
- 3 require Batman's Explosive Gel to destroy a cracked wall entrance
- 3 are accessible to any character and open from the start
- If you can't enter a Puzzle Room, check your active character โ swap at the Batcave if needed
- Puzzle Room completion is tracked in the map โ completed rooms turn from green to gold on the icon
Clear all 7 villain hideouts across Gotham (purple skull icons on the map). Each hideout is a multi-room combat gauntlet ending in a mini-boss fight against a named villain. These are the hardest open-world encounters in the game โ each mini-boss has a unique mechanic.
- Penguin's Iceberg Lounge (Downtown) โ umbrella shield mechanic, must be disarmed first
- Two-Face's Courthouse (Gotham Heights) โ coin flip determines attack type; watch for the golden flash
- Scarecrow's Greenhouse (Robinson Park) โ fear gas clouds reduce visibility; stick to the light
- Riddler's Underground Lair (The Narrows) โ puzzle lock that must be solved before damage can be dealt
- Harley Quinn's Funhouse (Industrial District) โ projectile-heavy; Shield absorb using gadgets not available, pure dodge required
- Killer Croc's Sewers (Gotham Harbour) โ underwater sections; use Batboat to chase Croc between phases
- Ra's al Ghul's Temple (Old Gotham) โ final hideout, hardest encounter; three phases, each requiring a different character's special ability
Use Detective Vision to locate and find a hidden WayneTech Cache. Detective Vision is activated by holding L2/LT while unarmed โ it highlights nearby interactable objects, enemies through walls, and hidden caches in a blue-outlined x-ray view. Simply activate it while near any WayneTech Cache and interact with it while the vision is active.
- The easiest opportunity is in Chapter 1 โ the Gotham docks section has a WayneTech Cache behind a crate cluster
- Activate Detective Vision (hold L2/LT), locate the blue-glowing cache, and interact with it
- Trophy pops the moment you collect the cache while Detective Vision is active
- If you miss it in Chapter 1, any open-world WayneTech Cache collected while Detective Vision is on will work
