The Batcave โ€” Your Hub for Everything

The Batcave is the central hub for Legacy of the Dark Knight โ€” the place where you purchase upgrades, unlock suits and vehicles, store collectibles, and track your Platinum progress. Studs are the game's currency, earned from smashing everything in the environment and defeating enemies. The stud multiplier here is not a red brick โ€” it lives on the Exploration skill tree (the two "Hyper Combo" skills, capping at ร—4). Red Bricks in this game are purely cosmetic (suit and vehicle colour schemes), so studs come from playing and raising that skill multiplier, not from cheat bricks.

๐Ÿ’ก
Priority order: 1) unlock each district's tower โ€” that pins every WayneTech Cache to your map, 2) grab the Exploration tree's two "Hyper Combo" skills to raise your stud multiplier to its ร—4 cap, 3) work through the Batcave Expansions, then the character skill trees, Batsuits and Vehicles. This reveals collectibles and speeds up your stud income before the big spending.

Holy Skill Upgrades, Batman!

Silver

Unlock all Skill Upgrades for every playable character โ€” Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, Jim Gordon and Talia. Each has a dedicated skill tree in the Batcave terminal, and you must fully max every one. It's a moderate grind you can chip away at through normal play โ€” nothing here is missable, so finish it after the story.

๐Ÿฆ‡

Batman โ€” 8 Upgrades

  • Triple Batarang (throw 3 simultaneously)
  • Explosive Gel Radius (larger blast area)
  • Grapple Range (longer hook distance)
  • Combo Extender (3-sec extra timer)

  • Sword Strike I & II (melee damage)
  • Shadow Step (teleport short distance)
  • League Training I & II (combo boost)
  • Assassin's Focus (counter window wider)
๐Ÿ’ก
Talia al Ghul is unlocked as a playable character after completing the Prologue and returning to the Batcave the first time. She appears in the character select terminal and her upgrade tree must be fully purchased for this Silver trophy โ€” she's easy to overlook since she's only playable in the Prologue chapter. Nightwing counts too โ€” he has his own skill upgrades separate from Robin's, so don't assume Robin's tree covers him.

I'm not wearing hockey pads.

Silver

Unlock the wardrobe's outfits. This game leans hard into costumes โ€” the base game has around 100 suits across the seven Bat-Family characters (Batman alone has over 40), pulled from the films, comics, animated series and games. They're purely cosmetic and come from missions, challenges, shops and collectibles as you complete the game.

Wanna know how I got these cars?

Silver

Unlock the full vehicle roster โ€” around 30 vehicles across the seven characters (Batmobiles, cycles and more). Most can either be bought in the Batcave Garage with studs or earned for free through WayneTech Caches, AR challenges and side quests, so you rarely need to pay if you're already collecting. The full per-vehicle unlock list is on our Collectibles guide.

  • Batmobiles (7): Classic TV (1966), Burton '89, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, Nolan Tumbler, Arkham Knight, The Batman (2022)
  • Batcycles (3): Classic, Batpod (Nolan), Legacy Cycle โ€” Legacy Cycle unlocks after completing Chapter 6
  • Watercraft (2): Batboat Classic, Batboat Modern โ€” both purchased with Studs
  • You need the full roster for the trophy โ€” check the vehicle log in the Batcave terminal to see what's outstanding
๐Ÿ’ก
The Tumbler is the best vehicle for Platinum purposes. Its straight-line speed makes crime getaway chases trivial and it handles the Industrial District AR Trial vehicle sprint most comfortably. Unlock and use it from Chapter 4 onward whenever you need ground travel speed.

I own the place.

Bronze

The I own the place. trophy asks you to buy all of the Batcave Expansions at the terminal. These are structural upgrades that open up new areas and functionality in the Batcave โ€” vehicle storage, the wardrobe, display space and more. They unlock as you progress through the story and cost studs, so grab each one as it becomes available; with the Exploration tree's ร—4 stud multiplier you'll comfortably afford them all. Nothing is missable, so you can finish them off after the campaign if you'd rather not spend early.

Platinum trophy

Not Just a Cave

Bronze

Place 5 Props or Trophies anywhere in the Batcave โ€” a quick one once you've gathered a few collectibles. See the Collectibles page for all locations. Once all 24 are physically brought to the Batcave and placed on their pedestals, the trophy pops automatically.

Interior Decorator is the simplest trophy in the entire Platinum โ€” place any prop in the Batcave for the first time. Interact with the Decoration Terminal in the Batcave (unlocked with Expansion 2) and place any item. Trophy pops immediately on placement. Takes 10 seconds.

  • The Decoration Terminal is on the left wall of the Trophy Room after Expansion 2 is purchased
  • You receive your first free prop (a small Batman statue) automatically when the Decoration Terminal is first unlocked โ€” just place it
  • Additional props are purchased with Studs or found as collectibles in Gotham
  • The Batcave's dรฉcor is purely cosmetic โ€” there's no trophy for filling the entire space

Batcave & Upgrades โ€” FAQ

How do you 100% the Batcave in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight?

Buy everything at the Batcave terminal โ€” every character's full skill-upgrade tree, all the Batsuits in the wardrobe, and all the Batcave Expansions, then fill the Trophy Room and use Interior Decorator. None of it is missable, so mop it up after the story; studs come quickly once you raise your stud multiplier via the Exploration tree's Hyper Combo skills.

How do you get the Holy Skill Upgrades, Batman! trophy?

Unlock every skill upgrade for all seven playable characters โ€” Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, Jim Gordon and Talia. Each has their own skill tree in the Batcave terminal, and every tree must be fully maxed. Nightwing and Talia are the easiest to overlook, so double-check both.

How do you earn Studs fast for Batcave upgrades?

The stud multiplier is a skill in this game, not a red brick โ€” unlock both "Hyper Combo" skills on the Exploration tree to raise it to its ร—4 cap. With that active, smashing objects and defeating enemies during normal play earns studs quickly enough to fund every Batcave upgrade.

Are any Batcave upgrades or trophies missable?

No โ€” the Batcave is a persistent hub you can return to any time after the story, so you can finish buying skill upgrades, suits and expansions whenever you like. A few expansions only unlock after a specific story chapter.
