Run by day, survive the night

A decade on, Dying Light still nails the fantasy no other zombie game does: free-running across Harran's rooftops by day, then sprinting in terror from Volatiles once the sun goes down. Fluid parkour plus brutal melee makes it one of the best open-world survival games on PS Plus.

The platinum is a fair, enjoyable grind. You'll clear the story and every side quest, hit the combat and skill milestones, capture safe zones, and put in a few nights dodging Volatiles. The only thing standing between you and the platinum is a handful of online co-op trophies โ€” the good news is Dying Light's co-op is peer-to-peer and still works.

The catches

The Whole Story (all side quests) is the main thing to watch โ€” some side quests become unavailable as the story advances, so clear them as you go. Four trophies (Lucky 7, Harran Athletics, I've Got Your Back, Polyamory) need online co-op, so line up a friend โ€” Polyamory wants three partners in one session. Everything else is natural play or quick cleanup.

One of the most fun platinums on the service โ€” just don't leave the co-op trophies or the side quests to the very end.

The Verdict โ€” Pros

  • Genre-best parkour and day/night tension
  • Meaty, varied, genuinely fun platinum
  • Co-op still works โ€” trophies are obtainable

The Verdict โ€” Cons

  • Four trophies need online co-op partners
  • Some side quests are missable mid-story
  • A few grindy kill/collectible milestones

โ˜… Two things to plan for: some side quests become unavailable as the story progresses, so clear them as you go for The Whole Story; and four trophies need online co-op (Lucky 7, Harran Athletics, I've Got Your Back, Polyamory) โ€” Polyamory needs three partners in a single session. Co-op is peer-to-peer and still functional.

Step-by-Step Roadmap

Step 1

Story + every side quest

Play the campaign but clear side quests as you reach them โ€” some expire as the story moves on. This covers Bittersweet and The Whole Story.

Step 2

Ranks, skills & night play

Level Survivor, Agility and Power ranks (play at night for bonus XP), survive a level-2 night pursuit, and knock out the challenges and craft/lockpick milestones.

Step 3

Combat & world cleanup

Grind the kill trophies (kicks, throws, firearms, traps), capture all Safe Zones and clear all Quarantine Zones, and grab the text collectibles.

Step 4

Co-op trophies โ†’ platinum

Team up online for Lucky 7, Harran Athletics, I've Got Your Back and Polyamory. Mop up any stragglers and the Platinum is yours.

๐Ÿค No one to play with? Post your PSN ID and region on the PIXELFORGE Co-op Partner Finder and pair up with another hunter to clear all four co-op trophies โ€” including the four-player Polyamory.
