The Review

An ex-Witcher vampire RPG โ€” and a save-smart platinum

The Blood of Dawnwalker is the debut RPG from Rebel Wolves, a studio led by ex-Witcher 3 developers โ€” and it shows. You play Coen, a Dawnwalker caught between human and vampire, racing to save your family in the vampire-ruled valley of Vale Sangora. It launched to strong reviews (Metacritic 83, ~92% positive): sharp combat, a striking day/night system, a great score and a lived-in world, held back only by the rougher edges of a smaller-budget production.

For trophy hunters it's a treat: a 5/10 platinum in around 40โ€“60 hours, and โ€” crucially โ€” doable in a single playthrough if you manage your saves. There's no New Game+, no chapter select and no free-roam after the story, so the whole platinum hinges on keeping manual saves (you get 54 slots) and reloading a pre-finale save to mop up the game's four mutually-exclusive endings.

The two big watch-outs: play on Duelist difficulty (needed for one gold), and rescue your family within 30 in-game days for the most missable trophy of the lot. Nail those, follow the route below, and Every Last Drop is a comfortable, story-first ride.

What we loved

  • Ex-Witcher pedigree โ€” 83 Metacritic
  • Fair 5/10 platinum in one playthrough
  • Great day/night combat + atmosphere
  • All four endings reachable from one save

What frustrated us

  • Several missables (endings, 30-day timer, NPC quests)
  • No NG+, no chapter select, no post-story roam
  • One full ending must be on Duelist difficulty
  • Save management is mandatory, not optional
Platinum Roadmap

The road to Every Last Drop

One playthrough does it โ€” but only with disciplined saves. Keep plenty of manual saves (54 slots; a new slot every in-game day is the pro move), because there's no NG+, no chapter select and no roaming after the credits. Start on Duelist, keep an eye on the 30-day family timer, and hold a master save before the finale.

1Start on Duelist difficulty and clear the prologue. You need one full ending on Duelist for Uphill Battle, so just begin there. Finish the prologue ('Withering Away') to reach the open world.
2Unfog the map and level up โ€” stay under ~15 in-game days. Buy the Shapeshift and Mercurial Fervor vampire skills for fast travel, climb all 11 towers, and clear Monster Lairs, Persons in Danger, camps and Ancient Circles. Aim for ~level 20 and avoid red-skull (over-levelled) areas. Every in-game day counts against the 30-day timer, so keep moving.
3Do the court activities and trigger the three bosses โ€” reach an ending by ~day 22. Complete roughly 75% of each court to unlock the boss fights: Ambrus (The Right Fist of the Knyaz), Bakir (The Mad Khan) and Xanthe (The Dark Mistress). Rescue your family before day 30 for In the Nick of Time.
4SAVE before the final quest โ€” never overwrite it. Take The Turncoat ending first: it skips the final boss fight, which is ideal while you're still on Duelist. This is your master save for the other three endings.
5Reload, drop to Story difficulty, and clean up the endings. From the pre-finale save, take The Patricide, The Knyazmaker and The Folk Hero one after another. Grab the two secret early endings โ€” Together Forever and A Hero They Deserve โ€” from earlier saves too.
6Hit Level 50, finish side content and Ultimate Perks โ†’ Platinum. Mop up side quests, the exploration/collectible trophies, the ability feats, and an Ultimate Perk in each tree (39 skill points each). Tidy the last few and Every Last Drop pops.
Missables โ€” plan around these. The four endings (The Turncoat, The Patricide, The Knyazmaker, The Folk Hero) are mutually exclusive โ€” keep a manual save before the final quest and reload it for each. In the Nick of Time needs you to rescue your family within 30 in-game days (the most missable trophy). Uphill Battle needs one full ending on Duelist difficulty. The two secret early endings โ€” Together Forever (5 dream cycles) and A Hero They Deserve (escape via the western gate) โ€” need their own saves. And Sins of the Past, Misery Loves Company and The Manumit lock if their quest-giver (Anca, Lacra, Crake) dies โ€” never kill non-hostile NPCs.

Systems & tips that actually matter

A handful of things the game barely explains โ€” internalise these and both the platinum and the playthrough get a lot smoother.

⏳ Time is a resource, not a ticking clock

The 30-day timer only advances for story missions, major decisions and skill upgradesexploring, fighting, looting and chatting cost zero time. Each day and night is split into 8 segments. So don’t panic-rush: unfog the map, grind levels and clear side content freely, and only “spend” days when you push the main story. That’s exactly how the sub-30-day rescue (In the Nick of Time) fits comfortably alongside everything else in a single run.

🌙 Two bodies, two toolkits

By day, Coen fights as a human — witchcraft hexes (like Burning Blood) and universal swordmastery to control range. By night, transform into a vampire for claws, fangs and Vampiric abilities (Shadowstep, Planeshift, Blood Surge). Health regenerates at night, but you must feed to keep Blood Hunger in check. Most of the fiddly trophies lean on the vampire kit — Shadowstep gets you up the towers, and night is when you drain NPCs for Feral Hunger.

🫁 Corruption — power with a price

Every time you feed, your Corruption rises, pushing Coen closer to a full vampire. That’s how you unlock the deepest Vampiric perks — you need Corruption level 15 for the Creature of the Night Ultimate — but it also brings unsettling visions and moments where you briefly lose control. Feed often: the downside is mostly flavour, the upside is trophies and power.

🔥 Infamy & Edicts — the nemesis system

The more chaos you cause, the higher your Infamy — and your nemesis Brencis answers with Edicts: more soldiers on the streets, even city curfews. But you want high Infamy for the platinum — Throne of Thorns needs peak Infamy, the Turncoat ending needs it maxed, and Smuggler’s silver trade opens at Infamy 4 — so lean into the trouble and just expect the valley to push back.

⚔️ Directional combat & the Duelist catch

Combat is directional: attacks and blocks come from four directions (up/down/left/right) and you match the enemy’s direction to parry or counter. New players can switch on Omniblock/Omniattack to auto-aim swings and parries. The four presets are Story, Fair, Challenging and Duelist — and the on-screen directional prompt disappears on the higher difficulties. Since Uphill Battle forces one ending on Duelist (no prompt), get comfortable reading attack directions first — and Untouchable’s five-in-a-row perfect blocks become far easier once you can.

Every Trophy

Earn every other trophy.

Platinum trophy

Every Last Drop

Details
Collect all trophies. The whole list below โ€” above all the four endings and the sub-30-day rescue โ€” earns you the platinum.
Story, Bosses & Endings 13 trophies

The main path and its six finales. The endings hinge on dialogue choices and set-up questlines, so keep a manual save before the final quest and reload it for each โ€” see the warning above.

Bronze trophy

A Dawnwalker is Born

Details
Complete the prologue ('Withering Away'). During it you brew Esme's medicine โ€” use hot water and three spoonfuls of herbs โ€” then you're released into the open world. Story-unmissable.
Bronze trophy

The Right Fist of the Knyaz

Details
Kill Ambrus in the duel. Ambrus is one of the three court bosses โ€” complete roughly 75% of his Court Activities to unlock the duel, then win it. Beating all three bosses (Ambrus, Bakir, Xanthe) is what triggers the game's ending quest.
Bronze trophy

The Mad Khan

Details
Kill Bakir during the games. Progress ~75% of Bakir's Court Activities to reach his fight in the arena games, then defeat him.
Bronze trophy

The Dark Mistress

Details
Neutralise Xanthe. Advance ~75% of her Court Activities to trigger her quest. You don't have to kill her โ€” you can strike a deal instead; either outcome earns the trophy and counts as a boss cleared.
Gold trophy

Uphill Battle

MissableDetails
Complete one full ending on the Duelist difficulty preset. Only a single ending needs to be on Duelist, so start the game on Duelist and take The Turncoat ending there (it skips the final boss fight). Afterwards drop to Story for the other endings and all cleanup.
Bronze trophy

A Hero They Deserve

MissableDetails
Reach the early 'leave the valley' ending. Available right after the prologue: go to West Briar Sloughs and, at night, use Planeshift/Shadowstep to cross the broken bridge near Coward's Path Shrine, reach the gate and pick '[leave the valley forever]'. Do it from a spare save so you keep your main run.
Bronze trophy

Together Forever

MissableDetails
Reach the early 'stay with family' ending. Progress Xanthe's Court Activity 'Home Sweet Home', interact with the door atop Silts Tower and choose '[open the door]', then survive 4 combat loops and talk to your family on the 5th cycle. Take it from a dedicated save.
Silver trophy

The Turncoat

MissableDetails
Betray your allies for Brencis. Take this ending FIRST โ€” it skips the final boss, ideal while on Duelist. Set-up: defeat all 3 bosses within 30 days at max Infamy, and progress Crake's questline to 'Where Loyalty Lies'. In the finale choose 'I just want my family back' then 'I'll do it', and interact with the hideout door at night.
Silver trophy

The Patricide

MissableDetails
Defeat Brencis alongside Lacra. Set up by completing Lacra's full questline โ€” A Friend Like This โ†’ Song of the Mountain โ†’ Hive and Seek โ†’ Our Rotten Roots โ†’ Midnight Reckoning โ€” then reload the pre-finale save and side with Lacra to take Brencis down together.
Silver trophy

The Knyazmaker

MissableDetails
Defeat Brencis alongside Crake. Requires Crake's full 7-quest chain โ€” The Firebrand โ†’ Shadows in the Woods โ†’ Where Loyalty Lies โ†’ What Hunts the Night โ†’ What Moves the Dead โ†’ Who Pulls the Strings โ†’ Rise at Dawn โ€” then side with Crake in the finale.
Silver trophy

The Folk Hero

MissableDetails
Defeat Brencis solo. In the finale choose 'Enough. Time to end this.' and beat him alone. (It can also trigger early by killing Brencis via the castle wall at night, or the side entrance using Father Florin's agreement or the key from mini-boss Georghe.)
Gold trophy

In the Nick of Time

MissableDetails
Rescue your family within 30 in-game days. The single most missable trophy โ€” every in-game day spent exploring eats into it. Rush the three bosses and the main story, reaching the finale by ~day 22โ€“30. Once your family is saved, the timer stops mattering for the rest of the platinum.
Gold trophy

The Blood of Dawnwalker

Details
Finish the story โ€” unlocks on reaching any of the endings.
Side Quests & Characters 8 trophies

Character questlines and set collections. Two of these also set up endings, and three lock permanently if the quest-giver dies โ€” keep non-hostile NPCs alive.

Bronze trophy

Arbiter's Blade

Details
Reforge St Mihai's sword in the 'Forge it Anew' quest โ€” track down the 3 sword shards and the hilt scattered across Vale Sangora, then have it reforged into a powerful weapon.
Bronze trophy

Arbiter's Regalia

Details
Complete the Arbiter's armour set via 'A Bulwark Against Darkness' โ€” gather the 4 armour components and unlock the set's full potential.
Bronze trophy

Sins of the Past

MissableDetails
Complete Anca's questline (a four-quest chain) to accompany her to the Font of Life. Missable โ€” Anca is a non-hostile NPC, so never attack her or the questline locks.
Bronze trophy

Misery Loves Company

MissableDetails
Complete Lacra's questline (A Friend Like This โ†’ Song of the Mountain โ†’ Hive and Seek โ†’ Our Rotten Roots โ†’ Midnight Reckoning) to follow her to the mandrake. This also sets up the Patricide ending โ€” two birds, one chain. Missable if Lacra dies.
Bronze trophy

The Manumit

MissableDetails
Complete Crake's full 7-quest chain (The Firebrand โ†’ โ€ฆ โ†’ Rise at Dawn) to learn all his secrets โ€” which also unlocks the Knyazmaker ending. Missable if Crake dies.
Bronze trophy

The Unquenchable Thirst

Details
Complete Vicho's side quest to uncover the truth about him โ€” a self-contained character questline.
Bronze trophy

The Outcast

Details
Complete Ocha's side quest and help her find a new destiny.
Bronze trophy

The Tsarina's Favourite Human

Details
Complete every task given by the sanzhani โ€” the vampire-court envoys who dole out jobs around the valley. Clear the full set they offer.
Combat & Abilities 10 trophies

Combat feats and the three skill trees (Swordmastery, Witchcraft, Vampirism). Bank skill points โ€” an Ultimate Perk costs 39 of them.

Bronze trophy

Better Safe than Sorry

Details
Behead an enemy with Artery Strike while they're hexed with Burning Blood. Cast the Burning Blood witchcraft hex on a foe, whittle them down, then trigger the Artery Strike finisher to decapitate them while the hex is still ticking.
Bronze trophy

Make It Rain

Details
Make an enemy explode with an Active Ability โ€” the vampiric Blood Surge ability bursts a foe in a shower of gore; use it as the killing blow on a weakened enemy.
Bronze trophy

Absolutely Insatiable

Details
Have 3 Passive Abilities equipped at once. Unlock passives across the skill trees and slot three together (e.g. Mercurial Fervor + Shapeshift + one more) โ€” you'll have the points for this well before endgame.
Bronze trophy

Untouchable

Details
Perform 5 Perfect Blocks in a row. Block in the direction each attack comes from at the last moment. Find a lone multi-hit enemy and parry a full combo cleanly โ€” take a hit and the counter resets.
Bronze trophy

Master of Arms

Details
Unlock an Ultimate Perk in the Swordmastery tree. It sits at the very end of the tree and costs 39 skill points in total, so funnel your points into Swordmastery.
Bronze trophy

Arch Warlock

Details
Unlock an Ultimate Perk in the Witchcraft tree โ€” the same 39-point investment, poured into Witchcraft.
Bronze trophy

Creature of the Night

Details
Unlock an Ultimate Perk in the Vampirism tree. Beyond skill points, this one needs Corruption level 15 โ€” feed as a vampire to raise your Corruption toward the cap.
Bronze trophy

Mastery

Details
Max out any single ability (Swordmastery, Witchcraft or Vampiric) to its final rank โ€” a natural by-product of building toward one of the Ultimate Perks above.
Bronze trophy

Dead Man Talkin'

Details
Use Compel Soul on a corpse. Unlock the Compel Soul witchcraft ability; it's required during the story quest 'Smoke and Ashes', so you can't permanently miss it.
Bronze trophy

Feral Hunger

Details
Lose control and drain someone outside of combat. At night, with your health critically low, walk up to a non-hostile NPC (taverns are ideal) and drain them โ€” Coen loses control and feeds.
Vampirism & Leveling 4 trophies

Progression milestones โ€” these build up naturally over the platinum.

Silver trophy

Glass Ceiling

Details
Reach Level 50, the max. Story and bosses get you into the high 30sโ€“40s; clean up side quests, Court Activities and the exploration list to top out at 50.
Bronze trophy

Shadow Roamer

Details
Travel 1,000 metres using Vampiric Abilities โ€” Shadowstep, Planeshift or Shapeshift. It's cumulative, so just use them for traversal (you'll want them for the towers anyway) and it pops on its own.
Bronze trophy

Balanced Diet

Details
Drink blood 10 times from animals, humans or monsters while you're missing health โ€” do it during normal fights whenever your HP dips low.
Bronze trophy

Gear of the Gods

Details
Fill all 8 equipment slots with Legendary items at once โ€” two weapons, armour pieces, rings and an amulet, all Legendary. Hoard late-game Legendary drops and purchases and equip a full set; easiest near max level.
Exploration & World 8 trophies

Map, collectibles and points of interest. Do the towers first โ€” they unfog the world and mark everything else.

Bronze trophy

Bird's-Eye View

Details
Climb all 11 towers and scout their regions: Church, Briar Sloughs, Maragir Wealds, St. Tryna's Grove, Market, Cathedral, Neustadt, Boar's Back, Rockfalls, Silts and Tantari. Do them at night and use Shadowstep to teleport up the walls. Knock these out early โ€” they unfog the map and reveal the flags, camps and activities.
Bronze trophy

Capture the Flag

Details
Tear down all 5 of Brencis's Flags planted around Vale Sangora. They appear on the map as you unfog regions from the towers, so do the towers first.
Bronze trophy

Tour Guide Training

Details
Visit all 8 of Vale Sangora's villages/settlements. Fast-travel between shrines and pass through each one โ€” it fills in naturally as you chase other content, so just check the map for any you've missed.
Bronze trophy

Antique Aficionado

Details
Enter Ancient Ruins for the first time. Comes up early in the 'Deep Down' quest or during Xanthe's excavation Court Activities โ€” you'll very likely get it before you're even aiming for it.
Bronze trophy

Big-City Living

Details
Visit the City of Svartrau โ€” the game's main city, reached during the main story. Step inside its walls and it unlocks.
Bronze trophy

Realmwalker

Details
Visit Anachora for the first time โ€” the otherworldly realm you reach through the story. The first trip pops it, so it can't be missed.
Bronze trophy

Throne of Thorns

Details
Reach peak Infamy in Vale Sangora. Infamy climbs as you complete Court Activities and stir up trouble; push it to the top tier (you also need high Infamy for the Turncoat ending and the silver-fencing trade).
Bronze trophy

Delivery Delay

Details
Destroy 8 of the 10 vrakhiri transports โ€” enemy supply convoys that travel the roads, flagged as Court Activities. Ambush them as you ride around; you only need 8 of the 10.
Economy & Odds 3 trophies

Quick money and market trophies.

Bronze trophy

Selfish

Details
Sell a fish to a fishmonger. The fishmonger stands in the Svartrau city market โ€” loot or buy a fish, sell it to him, and it pops in seconds.
Bronze trophy

Smuggler

Details
Earn 1,000 denarii selling silver. You need Infamy level 4+ to unlock the silver-fencing trade; offload silver goods to smuggler contacts until you've banked 1,000 denarii from those sales.
Bronze trophy

Miser

Details
Hold 5,000 denarii at once. It's about your current purse, not lifetime earnings โ€” sell loot and hold off on big purchases until you're carrying 5,000 at the same time.
FAQ

The Blood of Dawnwalker platinum โ€” quick answers

Is The Blood of Dawnwalker's platinum hard?
No โ€” it's a fair 5/10 and there's nothing online. The challenge is organisation, not skill: you're juggling four mutually-exclusive endings, a 30-in-game-day family timer, and one ending that must be on Duelist difficulty. Manage your saves and it's a smooth ~40โ€“60 hours.
How many playthroughs do I need?
Just one โ€” if you keep a manual save before the final quest and reload it for all four endings. There's no New Game+ and no chapter select, so those saves are what make it a single-playthrough platinum.
What are the missable trophies?
Eleven: the four endings (The Turncoat, The Patricide, The Knyazmaker, The Folk Hero), In the Nick of Time (30-day rescue), Uphill Battle (one ending on Duelist), the two secret early endings (Together Forever, A Hero They Deserve), and three NPC questlines โ€” Sins of the Past, Misery Loves Company and The Manumit โ€” that lock if the quest-giver dies.
Do I have to play the whole game on the hardest difficulty?
No. Only ONE full ending needs to be on Duelist (for Uphill Battle). Start on Duelist, take the Turncoat ending there, then drop to Story difficulty for the other three endings and all the cleanup.
What's the 30-day timer about?
'In the Nick of Time' needs you to rescue your family within 30 in-game days โ€” the most missable trophy. Prioritise the main story and reach an ending by around day 22โ€“30. You can still finish everything else after the timer; only the rescue itself is time-limited.
