Every gold medal requirement in GTA 5: all story missions (including heist setups and Lester's assassinations), all 41 Strangers & Freaks medals and the 5 Rampages, each with a tip. Check a mission here before you start it and you'll often get gold on the first try.

How it works: earn gold on any 70 of 115 medals for Solid Gold, Baby!. Objectives are cumulative across replays: meet some objectives on one run and the rest on another, and they add up. Replay any mission from Pause → Game → Replay Mission, which also shows which objectives are already done. Quickest medals: the Blitz Play setups (Boiler Suits, Masks), The Good Husband (automatic), Hang Ten, The Ballad of Rocco, Reuniting the Family and most Strangers & Freaks.

How to earn it

Earn gold on any 70 of the 115 available medals: 69 from story missions and 46 from Strangers & Freaks (41) plus Rampages (5). You can skip 45. Replay any mission from the pause menu (Game → Replay Mission), which also shows which objectives you've already met.

Tip

Objectives are cumulative across replays: do the time limit on one run and the headshots on another. The Strangers & Freaks medals are the quickest. See every requirement on our gold medals page.

In story order. Heist approaches are shown where you choose them; the setups for the approach you don't pick simply won't appear. Assassination medals are about finishing the hit plus a bonus objective.

Prologue

Tip: No gold medal. A tutorial robbery nine years before the main story. Just play it through.

Franklin and Lamar

Tip: Sit behind Lamar for most of the race, because he rams you if you pass early. Save Franklin's slow-motion driving for the studio lot (weave through the costumed actors) and the final stretch into the depot, where you overtake.

Repossession

Tip: The fleeing car leaks fuel. Shoot the trail it leaves to blow it up. Take out the biker who appears behind the fence straight away to skip most of the chase, which also saves time.

Complications

Tip: Crouch into stealth after you hop the wall and take out the gardener from behind. In the fist-fight, keep punching without a pause: Simeon can't counter if you never stop.

Chop

Tip: Needs Tonya's first tow job (Pulling Favors) done. Keep the special ability topped up for the van chase, and press the prompt to see through Chop's eyes early so the 10 seconds tick over while you drive.

Father/Son

Tip: Skip the cutscenes for time. For the drive-by kills, stop the truck and shoot from the seat. It's far easier than doing it on the move.

Daddy's Little Girl

Tip: Swim underwater for the boat, it's faster. Push the stick forward on the Seashark to stop bouncing on waves and it'll hit top speed on a straight.

The Long Stretch

Tip: In the final room, stay tight to the right-hand wall for the best cover. Use Franklin's driving ability to lose the police quickly at the end.

Tip: Michael must be wearing a suit to start. For the photo, face the keypad by the back door so the camera, keypad and alarm all fit in one shot.

Heist choice: The Jewel Store Job

Choose Smart (Bugstars Equipment + BZ Gas Grenades) or Loud (Carbine Rifles). Both give the same trophy. Smart has two gold medals from setups instead of one. For the crew, a good gunman (Packie or Gus) helps with Clean Sweep, and a good hacker gives you more time.

The Jewel Store Job

Tip: Smash the cabinets in a tight loop (first-person view helps you move between them faster). On the bike chase, keep the police off Franklin by shooting the cars that get close to him.

Tip: Trevor is playable from here. At the trailer park, clear the left entrance first and shoot the gas canisters between the trailers, and check the map for bikers who run. At the end, keep pushing Ortega's trailer until it goes into the river.

Trevor Philips Industries

Tip: Stay in cover. In the final shootout, go outside and blow up the fleeing cars. The gas canisters and a grenade launcher make quick work of the six vehicles.

Nervous Ron

Tip: Cut corners on the ATV race. Shoot all the bikers from the wing before Ron even mentions them. On the flight, the creek and the Zancudo River both have low bridges, so go under six of them.

Crystal Maze

Tip: Snipe from the high ground before going in, then use the back door for cover. Some pairs of brothers stand chatting in a line, so one well-placed shot through both gets 2 Birds, 1 Stone.

Friends Reunited

Tip: Use a suppressed weapon, shoot out lights and stay unseen. Plant a sticky bomb on every trailer and only detonate once they're all placed.

Fame or Shame

Tip: Punch the man standing by the parking space. In the chase, drive carefully around traffic and poles so you never fall behind. Long straights (Hawick, Davis Avenue) are where the Phantom hits top speed.

Dead Man Walking

Tip: Michael's bullet-time is the key to every objective here. Pop it for the headshots and the 4 ability kills. Leave the coroner's office by the back to avoid the police.

Three's Company

Blitz Play

The Multi Target Assassination

Tip: A fast car and a sniper rifle. Postpone until after The Big Score for the money: buy Debonaire (DEB) on LCN before, sell after the jump, then buy Redwood (RWC) and hold for its huge rise.

The Vice Assassination

Tip: Take the shot from distance and slip away without drawing a wanted level. Postpone for the money: buy Fruit (FRT) on BAWSAQ before, sell it, then buy Facade (FAC) and sell when it recovers.

The Bus Assassination

Tip: Drive the bus route and run the target over with the bus itself. Postpone for the money: after the hit, buy Vapid (VAP) on BAWSAQ and sell when it has recovered.

The Construction Assassination

Tip: Stealth kills are basically required anyway. Against Rocco, never stop punching. Land the helicopter gently on the pad.

Caida Libre

Deep Inside

Tip: Knock the actor out from behind, press eject the moment you're prompted, and he'll be lying on the road on your way out.

Tip: Take the most direct road to the bank, then race back as fast as you can.

Tip: The forest has deer, so check what you're shooting. When Franklin calls, switch to him straight away to save time.
