GTA 5 — Chronological Platinum Walkthrough

No gold medal.

After Repossession, Tonya (Franklin) appears. Do Pulling Favors now, because Chop and Marriage Counseling need it. Doing it also unlocks Beverly's Paparazzo jobs and Hao's street race (Shift Work, 20:00–05:00 only), which gives the Street Race gold for Multi-Disciplined. Tonya's other four tow jobs arrive by text over the course of the story.

1. On Michael's phone, open epsilonprogram.com and take the test. A marker appears in Raton Canyon later.
2. The whole line takes many in-game days (the robes have to be worn for 10), so starting early means it's finished long before the ending.

Kifflom! — Finish the Epsilon Program line as Michael. Take the test on epsilonprogram.com, then complete nine missions, which involve donations ($500, $5,000, $10,000), delivering five specific cars, buying the $25,000 robes and wearing them for 10 days, and walking 5 miles in the desert. It ends with Unknowing the Truth.

Choose Smart (Bugstars Equipment + BZ Gas Grenades) or Loud (Carbine Rifles). Both give the same trophy. Smart has two gold medals from setups instead of one. For the crew, a good gunman (Packie or Gus) helps with Clean Sweep, and a good hacker gives you more time.

1. Maude (Grapeseed, Trevor): Special Bonds unlocks four bail-bond targets by email. Bring at least one back alive (stun gun!).
2. Altruist Cult: as Trevor, pick up a hitchhiker (e.g. at the foot of Mount Chiliad) and drive them to the cult camp instead of their destination.
3. Three Man Army: now possible. Call the others, pick them up in a four-door car and drive onto the airport runway for 3 stars, then survive 3 minutes.
4. Minute Men (Trevor): The Civil Border Patrol → An American Welcome → Minute Man Blues, all with medals (see the gold medal page).

Wanted: Alive or Alive — After Mr. Philips, meet Maude in Grapeseed as Trevor (Special Bonds). She emails you four bail-bond targets. Catch one, hurt but don't kill them (a stun gun is perfect), let them get in your car and drive them back to Maude.

Altruist Acolyte — As Trevor, pick up a hitchhiker from a random event (there are four, e.g. at the southern foot of Mount Chiliad) and, instead of their destination, drive them to the Altruist Cult camp (the ‘A’ that appears on the west side of Mount Chiliad).

Three Man Army — After Trevor is playable, call Michael and Franklin as one character, pick them both up in a four-door car, and drive onto the airport runway. That gives you three stars straight away. Keep driving around the airfield for 3 minutes without losing the cops.

Red Mist — As Trevor, after Trevor Philips Industries, complete all 5 Rampages. Each one unlocks the next: Rednecks (Sandy Shores), Vagos (La Mesa), Ballas (Chamberlain Hills), Military (Great Chaparral) and Hipsters (Mirror Park).

1. McKenzie Field Hangar (Trevor, $150,000, Grapeseed): 10 trafficking runs for Oscar (5 air, 5 land).
2. Downtown Cab Co. (Franklin, $200,000): wait for Raul's private-fare call.
3. Sonar Collections Dock (any, $250,000, Paleto Bay): the submarine for the 30 nuclear waste barrels. It pays for itself.
4. These also count towards the 5 income properties for 100%.

TP Industries Arms Race — As Trevor, buy McKenzie Field Hangar in Grapeseed ($150,000, after Nervous Ron) and finish all 10 trafficking missions for Oscar: 5 by air (Cuban 800) and 5 by land (Dune Buggy).

All's Fare in Love and War — After Nervous Ron properties go on sale. As Franklin, buy Downtown Cab Co. ($200,000, East Vinewood). Wait for Raul to phone you about a private fare, pick the VIP up and drop them off. Normal taxi fares don't count.

Waste Management — Buy the Sonar Collections Dock in Paleto Bay ($250,000). A submarine appears at the dock with the Trackify radar. Find all 30 barrels on the sea floor. Each barrel pays $23,000 plus a bonus at the end, so it pays for itself.

1. Three Man Army done? If not, do it now, while all three still answer the phone.
2. Kifflom!, Rampages, the arms race, a bail bond and the Altruists: if any are unfinished they're still safe with Option C, but now is a convenient time.
3. Make a named manual save.

No gold medal. Choose the approach for the last heist: Subtle (Driller, Stingers, three Gauntlets) or Obvious (Sidetracked, Driller).

1. Devin gives Franklin three options. Choose C: Deathwish. It's the best ending and keeps every missable trophy available.
2. Save before the choice in case you want to see A or B later from a copy.

1. Trading stock around the hits gets you Trading Pure Alpha straight away.
2. For A Lot of Cheddar ($200 million spent), buy and immediately sell stock over and over. Buying counts as spending.
3. Check your total under Stats → Cash.

Trading Pure Alpha — Sell one stock for a profit. The guaranteed way is Lester's assassinations: buy the stock that rises before (or after) the hit, wait, and sell in the green.

A Lot of Cheddar — Spend $200 million in total across all three characters. The easy way: after the story you'll have tens of millions each. Buy and immediately sell stock on the in-game stock market. Buying counts as spending, and selling straight away loses almost nothing.

1. Follow our 100% checklist: Franklin's 20 Strangers & Freaks, the 42 hobbies, 14 random events and the miscellaneous list.
2. Collectibles: 50 spaceship parts, 50 letter scraps (then A Starlet in Vinewood), 30 nuclear waste barrels.
3. Stunts: 50 jumps, 50 bridges, 15 knife flights (all for the trophies, fewer for 100%).
4. One gold per hobby type for Multi-Disciplined, and reveal the map with a jet for San Andreas Sightseer.

Career Criminal — Reach 100% on the in-game checklist (Pause → Stats → 100% Checklist). It's made of: all 69 story missions (50%), 20 specific Strangers & Freaks (10%), 42 specific hobbies (10%), 14 of 57 random events (15%) and a miscellaneous list (15%) that includes all 50 spaceship parts and letter scraps.

A Mystery, Solved — Find all 50 letter scraps (any character). The pieces rebuild a confession. Then go to the green question mark as Franklin for A Starlet in Vinewood and deal with the killer. The trophy pops at the end of that mission, not when you grab the 50th scrap.

Show Off — Land all 50 stunt jumps. You have to hit the ramp, go through the air in the right direction and land on your wheels in the right zone. The game plays a slow-motion camera when you've got it right.

Close Shave — Fly under all 50 bridges and complete all 15 Knife Flights (flying sideways between two buildings). Touching the bridge or the ground doesn't count.

Multi-Disciplined — Get one gold medal in each of six activity types: Shooting Range, Flight School, Off-Road Race, Sea Race, Street Race and Triathlon. You don't need gold in every event, just one per type.

San Andreas Sightseer — Reveal the fogged-out map. Grab a fast aircraft (a jet from Fort Zancudo is quickest), trace the whole coastline, then sweep the land in strips. The ocean counts too, up to where the water turns deep blue. It pops at around 95% revealed.

1. Count your golds under Game → Replay Mission. You need 70.
2. Easiest leftovers: Strangers & Freaks, the Blitz Play setups, Hang Ten, The Ballad of Rocco, Reuniting the Family and the Rampages. Every requirement is on our gold medal page.

Solid Gold, Baby! — Earn gold on any 70 of the 115 available medals: 69 from story missions and 46 from Strangers & Freaks (41) plus Rampages (5). You can skip 45. Replay any mission from the pause menu (Game → Replay Mission), which also shows which objectives you've already met.

1. Finish the intro: Lamar drives you from the airport.
2. Rob all 20 stores in a solo session.
3. Do the ‘everything Los Santos offers’ list: dance, clothes, haircut, tattoo, arm wrestling, a store robbery, darts, golf, tennis, shooting range.
4. Buy an apartment with a garage from the Dynasty 8 website (rank 5+).
5. Rank 20: call Merryweather for a backup helicopter.
6. Rank 18: a Gang Attack with 10+ kills and no deaths.

1. Win once in each competitive mode (Rally and Team Deathmatch need four players).
2. Win 5 races in your custom car (one-lap Criminal Records, then Replay).
3. Win a Rally as co-driver.
4. Survive a bounty for a full in-game day.
5. Get mugged (via a rank-50 friend's Lamar call) and kill the mugger.
6. Finish a Job with a Crew member.
7. All 10 waves of Survival (the Boneyard trick).

Numero Uno — Win at least once in each of 15 modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Air Race, Land Race (Standard, GTA, Rally), Sea Race, Arm Wrestling, Darts, Golf, Tennis, Shooting Range, Parachuting, plus a Gang Attack and all 10 waves of Survival.

Unnatural Selection — Finish all 10 waves of any Survival (unlocked around rank 15). The Boneyard map is the classic choice: camp in the narrow gap between the grey portacabin and the red wall on your right at the start.

1. Play missions on Hard with a team for extra RP, and use weekly double-RP events.
2. 30 platinum awards come along the way. Boost the quick ones (haircuts, outfits, No Claims Bonus, tennis, darts).

Decorated — Earn 30 platinum awards. Many are one-offs or quick to boost with a friend: No Claims Bonus (drive 30 minutes without crashing), Hairy Encounters (25 haircuts), Snapper Dresser (25 outfits), Checking Out (darts), Straight Sets and Out Of Five (tennis), Road Rage, Granny and more.

Above the Law — Reach rank 100 (1,583,380 RP). It's the longest part of the platinum, easily 100+ hours. Every activity gives RP: missions, races, heists, contact jobs.
