Combat, Skills & Training
Master the combat styles, the four dojo trainings and the stat trees, then take on the toughest optional challenges — the Blue Demon and a Midnight-difficulty mission.
Good to Go
BronzeFull guideCollapseUpgraded your armor, weapon and sub-weapon.
Good to Go
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Upgrade your armour, a main weapon and a sub-weapon at least once each. Visit the blacksmith or use the equipment menu and spend a little early sen and materials on all three categories.
Tip
Do this as soon as it unlocks — upgraded gear makes the early game smoother and teaches you the Bond Transfer system you'll need for Transfer of Power and Resonance.
Transfer of Power
BronzeFull guideCollapsePerformed your first Bond Transfer.
Transfer of Power
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Perform your first Bond Transfer — moving a bonus or skill from one piece of gear to another through the equipment menu once the feature unlocks.
Tip
Use Bond Transfer to carry your best rolled bonuses onto new gear as you level, so upgrades never cost you a hard-won stat. Doing it once here is all the trophy needs.
Resonance
BronzeFull guideCollapseEquipped four or more pieces of equipment with the same set bonus for the first time.
Resonance
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Equip four or more pieces of gear that share the same set bonus for the first time. Set pieces are labelled in their description; collect four of a set and equip them together.
Tip
Enemy officers and fugitives drop set gear — check your loot for matching set names, and use Bond Transfer if you want the set bonus without giving up your favourite base gear.
Traveling Through Time
BronzeFull guideCollapseRetried a mission for the first time using the Testament of the Soul.
Traveling Through Time
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Use the Testament of the Soul — the game's mission replay/retry feature — for the first time. After finishing any mission, choose to replay it via the Testament and the trophy pops.
Tip
The Testament is also how you mop up anything you missed in a story mission, since main missions can't normally be revisited in free roam. Remember it exists for cleanup.
Striver's License
BronzeFull guideCollapseReceived the highest rank (Master) at the dojo.
Striver's License
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Earn the highest rank, Master, at the combat dojo. The dojo sets timed or condition-based combat challenges, and you need a flawless enough run to hit the top grade.
Tip
Come back to the dojo after you've unlocked more skills and leaned to Counterspark reliably — the Master grade rewards clean parries and quick style-swaps, so it's far easier at a higher level than on your first visit.
Horseback Hero
BronzeFull guideCollapseReceived the highest rank (Master) in horseback archery.
Horseback Hero
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Reach Master rank in horseback archery training. Ride the course and hit the targets cleanly enough to score the top grade.
Tip
Slow down before each target cluster and loose your arrows at the apex of the ride — chasing speed usually costs you the accuracy the Master grade demands.
Winged Warrior
BronzeFull guideCollapseReceived the highest rank (Master) in gliding training.
Winged Warrior
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Reach Master rank in gliding training. Fly the glider course through every ring within the time and accuracy limit for the top grade.
Tip
Upgrade the glider first if you can, and tap into thermals/updrafts to hold altitude — running out of height before the last rings is the usual reason a run falls short of Master.
Firearm Genius
BronzeFull guideCollapseReceived the highest rank (Master) in firearms training.
Firearm Genius
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Reach Master rank in firearms training. Complete the shooting gallery with enough accuracy and speed — headshots score highest.
Tip
Aim for heads and don't panic-fire. A calm, accurate run beats a fast, sloppy one; reload during lulls so you're never caught empty on a target.
Style Guru
BronzeFull guideCollapseMastered three combat styles.
Style Guru
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Master three different combat styles. Each style has a mastery bar that fills as you use it in combat; max three separate styles to earn the trophy.
Tip
Styles level fastest against tough enemies, so grind mastery during fugitive hunts and mini-boss duels rather than on trash mobs. Deliberately switch to an under-levelled style once a fight is under control.
A Jack of One Trade is a Master of All
BronzeFull guideCollapseMastered one of the four stat types.
A Jack of One Trade is a Master of All
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Fully master one of the four stat types — Strength, Dexterity, Charm or Intellect — by unlocking every skill in that tree with skill points.
Tip
Pick the stat that matches your playstyle (Dexterity for stealth/blades, Strength for heavy weapons) and pour points into it. Skill points come from levelling and Karma, so this completes naturally if you commit to one tree.
Shadow Stalker
SilverFull guideCollapseSucceeded in carrying out 100 assassinations.
Shadow Stalker
SilverFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Carry out 100 assassinations — stealth takedowns on unaware enemies. Approach undetected and use the assassination prompt; enemy outposts, camps and prisons are full of easy targets.
Tip
Clear every occupied camp you pass in stealth rather than charging in. Combined with story infiltration missions and fugitive camps, 100 assassinations accumulates well before the end of a normal playthrough.
Keeper of the Peace
SilverFull guideCollapseDefeated 50 fugitives.
Keeper of the Peace
SilverFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Defeat 50 fugitives — the wanted-target bounties marked around the map. Track each one down and beat it in combat.
Tip
Fugitives drop strong gear and give big combat-style XP, so hunting them serves Style Guru and Keeper of the Peace at once. Prioritise them whenever one appears on your current region's map.
Martial Arts Maniac
BronzeFull guideCollapseDefeated enemies using every weapon.
Martial Arts Maniac
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Defeat at least one enemy with every weapon type in the game — katana, odachi, spear/polearm, bayonet, sabre, oxtail blade and the rest. Cycle through each type and land a killing blow with it.
Tip
Keep one of each weapon type in your stash and swap them in against weak, isolated enemies. Knock out the unusual types (oxtail blade, bayonet) deliberately so you're not left hunting for the last one or two.
Life Saver
BronzeFull guideCollapseCompleted a No-Kill Mission's objectives.
Life Saver
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Complete a No-Kill Mission's objectives — a special mission type where you must incapacitate rather than kill. Use non-lethal takedowns and the appropriate tools to clear it.
Tip
Equip and rely on your stealth takedowns and non-lethal sub-weapons for the whole mission. Going in with a stealth build makes the no-kill restriction almost effortless.
Tears of a Blue Demon
SilverFull guideCollapseManaged to beat the Blue Demon aboard the Black Ship.
Tears of a Blue Demon
SilverFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Beat the optional Blue Demon aboard the Black Ship — one of the toughest duels in the game. It hits hard, has long combos and punishes greedy attacks, so it's a pure test of your defensive fundamentals.
Tip
Come in around the mid-40s with upgraded gear and a mastered, counter-heavy style. Learn its attack tells and win with Counterspark parries and punishes rather than trading blows — patience beats aggression here.
Midnight Crossing
GoldFull guideCollapseCompleted an optional ronin mission with the "Midnight" difficulty setting enabled.
Midnight Crossing
GoldFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Complete any optional ronin mission with the Midnight difficulty modifier — the hardest setting — enabled. Toggle Midnight on at the mission prep screen and clear the mission with it active.
Tip
Choose the shortest, simplest optional mission you can and enable Midnight only for that one. You just need a single clear, so there's no reason to face the punishing difficulty on a long or complex mission.
