Lunar Supremacy

"Prove that no challenge on the Cradle is beyond you โ€” complete Pragmata on its hardest setting."

Gold Lunatic

Complete the full game on Lunatic difficulty from start to finish. Lunatic is not available in New Game+ โ€” you must start a brand new save file. Estimated time: 10โ€“14 hours for experienced players, 15โ€“20 for those less familiar with the combat system.

โš  Lunatic cannot be started from a New Game+ save โ€” begin a fresh campaign
โš ๏ธ
Start Lunatic second, not first. Your first playthrough on Standard or Hard teaches you enemy patterns, grid layouts, and boss phases. On Lunatic those same encounters hit significantly harder. Knowing what's coming is worth more than any upgrade.

Difficulty Differences

What's Harder

  • โ€บEnemy damage increased ~60โ€“70% vs Standard
  • โ€บLunafilament drops reduced ~40% โ€” fewer upgrade materials
  • โ€บHeal charge count reduced from 4 to 2 per Escape Hatch refill
  • โ€บElite enemies gain an additional attack phase
  • โ€บHacking grid randomisation is higher โ€” routes are less predictable
  • โ€บRed Zone enemies do not flinch from normal gunfire
  • โ€บBoss patterns speed up 15โ€“20% in final phases

What Stays the Same

  • โ€บHacking node types on each enemy grid remain identical
  • โ€บBoss attack sequences follow the same pattern โ€” only faster
  • โ€บAll collectibles, logs, REMs, and Cabin locations unchanged
  • โ€บShelter printer items unlock at the same chapter breakpoints
  • โ€บEscape Hatch positions unchanged โ€” same fast travel map
  • โ€บEnvironment hacking (turrets, traps) is just as effective
  • โ€บNo missable trophies introduced in Lunatic โ€” they carry over

Upgrade Priority for Lunatic

You start Lunatic with no carries from your previous save โ€” a completely fresh file. Prioritise your Lunafilament spending carefully, as drops are sparse. The recommended order below is built around surviving the first four chapters, which are the hardest with minimal upgrades.

๐Ÿ”ด Priority 1 Do First

  • Confusion Node โ€” buy the moment it unlocks (Ch. 3). Staggers elites and is required for multiple boss strategies
  • Shield Crack Node โ€” unlocks Ch. 2. Reduces shield enemies from 3-step kills to 1-step. Essential from Chapter 2 onward
  • Mag-Reload Ability โ€” unlocks Ch. 4. Extends magazine size, reducing reload interruptions during hacking
  • Rail Striker weapon โ€” unlocks Ch. 5. Highest single-shot damage until the Void Cannon, perfect for one-shotting weakened elites

๐ŸŸก Priority 2 Get Soon

  • Lunum Armour Ability โ€” unlocks Ch. 9. Adds a significant passive damage reduction layer that makes the endgame manageable
  • Void Cannon weapon โ€” unlocks Ch. 9. Combined with Pure Lunum upgrade, deals enough burst damage to end most boss phases before the speed-up triggers
  • Ally Convert Node โ€” unlocks Ch. 4. Converts one enemy to fight for you โ€” invaluable for crowd control in multi-enemy Red Zones
  • Dual Focus Ability โ€” unlocks Ch. 6. Lets you run hacking grids 25% faster โ€” critical when bosses attack during grid solving

โฌœ Priority 3 When Able

  • Overload Node โ€” good for Red Zones but not essential for bosses. Buy when resources allow, not before P1 and P2 items
  • Cryo Lance weapon โ€” freezes enemies briefly. Useful for crowd control but lower single-target damage than Rail Striker
  • Counter Surge Ability โ€” parry-based damage boost. High skill ceiling โ€” only buy if you're comfortable with the parry window
  • Lim Recycler weapon โ€” excellent in corridors but limited range. Buy eventually, not urgently

๐Ÿ’Ž Pure Lunum Usage

  • Pure Lunum is extremely rare on Lunatic โ€” farm Terra Dome Sweeper Bot between chapters
  • Upgrade the Void Cannon first โ€” makes the Ch. 9โ€“10 endgame significantly shorter
  • Second upgrade: Rail Striker โ€” carries the mid-game (Ch. 5โ€“8) through sheer burst damage
  • Do not waste Pure Lunum on utility weapons like the Cryo Lance or Lim Recycler

Node Tier List for Lunatic

On Lunatic the hacking grid is your primary survival tool โ€” gunfire alone cannot carry you through elites and bosses. Prioritise node routes that create immediate breathing room over maximising damage.

TierNodeWhy It's Rated HereBest Used Against
S Confusion Node
Unlocks Ch. 3
Staggers enemy, creates a safe attack window. The single most powerful defensive tool in the game. Mandatory for every difficult encounter. All elites, all bosses. Always route to this first when solving grids.
S Shield Crack Node
Unlocks Ch. 2
Strips shield in one grid route. Shield enemies are everywhere from Ch. 2 onward and are nearly unkillable without this. All shielded enemies. Combine with Confusion for a stagger-then-kill combo.
A Expose Node
Default
Reveals enemy weak point and multiplies all damage to it. The standard damage amplifier โ€” always take this if Confusion isn't available on a grid. All enemy types. Essential baseline for every combat encounter.
A Ally Convert Node
Unlocks Ch. 4
Turns a standard enemy against its allies. In multi-enemy Red Zones, one converted enemy can clear two to three of its former allies automatically, reducing your combat load dramatically. Red Zones with 4+ enemies. Not effective against elites or bosses (they resist conversion).
B Burn Node
Unlocks Ch. 5
Applies a damage-over-time fire effect. Good sustained damage but doesn't create breathing room the way Confusion does. Useful against high-health targets. Heavy enemies with large health pools. Combine with Expose for amplified DoT.
B Overload Node
Unlocks Ch. 8
Chains electricity between enemies within range. Very powerful in dense groups but requires specific positioning. Less reliable on Lunatic where enemies spread aggressively. Red Zone corridors with enemies forced into chokepoints.
B Auto-Hack Node
Unlocks Ch. 9
Automates the grid solution for one turn. Lifesaving in the final boss fight when you need to keep Hugh moving without splitting attention. Buy this for Can't Stop Won't Stop even if you don't use it often. Final boss Phase 3 and Sentinel Breach boss. Use as emergency relief.
C Cleanse Node
Unlocks Ch. 6
Strips buffs from enemies. Useful but situational โ€” most Lunatic encounters don't rely heavily on enemy buffs. Lower priority than sustain and damage nodes. Buffed enemies in Sector 6. Not useful in boss fights.

All 6 Bosses โ€” Lunatic Strategies

Boss grid patterns are identical to Standard โ€” only the speed and damage values change. If you know the pattern from your first run, you can pre-plan your grid routes before the fight even starts.

1

Patrol Alpha โ€” Sentinel Scout

Sector 2 ยท Chapter 2
Manageable
Boss Overview

A single large patrol bot with a basic two-phase grid โ€” Expose then Crack. Your first proper boss fight. The main Lunatic change is that its slam attack now one-shots if you're at low HP and it gains a secondary ranged burst in Phase 2.

Lunatic Strategy
  • Open with Shield Crack โ†’ Expose Node before firing a single shot
  • Stay mobile with the jetpack โ€” the slam attack tracks your last position, not your current one
  • Heal before entering Phase 2 (triggered at 50% HP) โ€” the burst attack fires immediately
  • Don't rush โ€” its attack cycle is slow enough to grid-solve safely between swings
2

IDUS Sentinel Mark I

Sector 4 ยท Chapter 5 โ€” Sentinel Breach Trophy
Challenging
Boss Overview

Three-phase fight. Phase 1 is straightforward. Phase 2 introduces a rotating laser sweep. Phase 3 combines the sweep with a targeted missile barrage. On Lunatic, Phase 3 begins when the boss hits 40% HP instead of 25%, giving you less time in the safer Phase 2.

Lunatic Strategy
  • Confusion Node is mandatory for Phase 3 โ€” it pauses the laser sweep for 3 seconds
  • In Phase 2: the laser sweep always rotates clockwise โ€” move counter-clockwise
  • In Phase 3: missiles have a 1.5 second lock-on delay โ€” use that window to solve one grid node
  • Position yourself at max range during Phase 3 โ€” missiles travel slower at distance and give more reaction time
  • Use the Rail Striker for burst damage โ€” one full clip into an exposed weak point can skip Phase 2 entirely if you're fast
3

The LunaDigger

Sector 7 โ€” Lunum Mines ยท Repel the Digger Trophy
Challenging
Boss Overview

A massive tunnelling machine that has broken loose in the Lunum Mines. This is an environmental boss โ€” it bursts through walls and floors unpredictably. The hacking grid appears on a panel mounted to the machine's chassis โ€” you must chase the panel as the machine moves. On Lunatic the machine moves 30% faster and the debris from its tunnel bursts now deals damage on contact.

Lunatic Strategy
  • Stay in the centre of the arena โ€” all tunnel burst paths come from the edges
  • The hacking panel is always on the machine's left flank โ€” pre-position left before it surfaces
  • Use Ally Convert on the smaller maintenance bots it spawns โ€” they distract the machine briefly while you hack
  • The machine's weak point is the engine exhaust on its tail โ€” exposed only during the surfacing animation (3-second window)
  • Void Cannon charged shot into the exposed exhaust deals enormous damage โ€” can end the fight in 3 surface cycles
4

IDUS Sentinel Mark II

Sector 9 ยท Chapter 9
Very Hard
Boss Overview

The hardest regular fight in the game on Lunatic. Four phases. The Mark II moves faster, has a larger grid (4ร—4), and Phase 4 introduces a shield that must be stripped by hacking before any damage can land. On Lunatic its shield regenerates between grid solves โ€” you must hack and fire in the same window or it resets.

Lunatic Strategy
  • This is the priority use for Auto-Hack โ€” trigger it in Phase 4 to solve the grid instantly while Hugh repositions
  • Confusion Node in Phase 4 is essential โ€” it pauses the shield regeneration for 4 seconds
  • In Phase 3: the boss fires a three-volley missile cluster โ€” jetpack straight up, not sideways
  • Conserve your two heal charges for Phase 3 and 4 โ€” don't spend them in Phase 1 or 2
  • Upgrade the Rail Striker with Pure Lunum before this fight if possible โ€” it can end Phase 3 in two shots
  • The arena has two raised platforms โ€” the boss cannot reach you on them during Phase 1 and 2, giving free hacking windows
5

IDUS Prime โ€” First Form

Sector 10 ยท Final Chapter
Very Hard
Boss Overview

IDUS Prime's first form is an expanded Sentinel-class encounter. Three phases, 5ร—5 grid, and a wide-field EMP burst that resets your hacking progress if it catches you. On Lunatic the EMP charges 40% faster than on Standard.

Lunatic Strategy
  • The EMP charge is telegraphed by a rising yellow pulse around the boss โ€” when you see it, immediately sprint to maximum range
  • Expose Node โ†’ Rail Striker is the most damage-efficient pattern in Phase 1 and 2
  • Phase 3 introduces a screen-filling energy beam โ€” always move perpendicular (left or right), never toward the beam
  • The Lunum Armour Ability reduces the beam's damage by approximately 40% โ€” equip it before this fight
  • Diana's Confusion Node placement in Phase 3 creates a 5-second stagger โ€” use every second of it to unload
FINAL

IDUS Prime โ€” True Form

Sector 10 ยท True Final Boss
Hardest Fight in the Game
Boss Overview

IDUS Prime's True Form is a five-phase encounter with a 6ร—6 hacking grid โ€” the largest in the game. Each phase strips one layer of IDUS's defences. On Lunatic, Phase 4 and 5 overlap for 20 seconds โ€” both attack patterns are active simultaneously. Players describe this as the most satisfying fight in the game once beaten.

Lunatic Strategy โ€” Phase by Phase
  • Phase 1: Standard โ€” Expose then shoot. Don't waste heals
  • Phase 2: Shield layer added โ€” Shield Crack first, then Expose. Auto-Hack is useful here to save manual grid time
  • Phase 3: IDUS begins moving constantly โ€” use jetpack boost to match its trajectory while hacking
  • Phase 4: Confusion Node on cooldown โ€” trigger it the moment it's available. Don't fire without Expose active โ€” all damage without it is reduced by 80%
  • Phase 5 (Lunatic Only โ€” Overlap): Both Phase 4 and 5 patterns fire simultaneously for the first 20 seconds. Use Auto-Hack here, conserve your second heal charge for this exact window, and position yourself in the top-left corner of the arena โ€” the fewest overlapping attack hitboxes converge there
  • Void Cannon fully upgraded with Pure Lunum can end Phase 5 in 2โ€“3 charged shots once IDUS is exposed and confused

๐Ÿ”ฎ

Entrusted Memory โ€” Bronze

"What Diana truly is โ€” and what was always waiting at the end."

Bronze

Unlocked by reaching 101% total completion โ€” one point above the standard 100%. This requires finding the hidden Sector 7 Secret Room, which only becomes accessible after completing the story. The scene inside recontextualises Diana's nature in the game's most emotionally resonant moment.

๐Ÿ’ก
You don't need to do this on Lunatic. The 101% can be reached on your first Standard playthrough + Unknown Signal Mode. It's listed here because many players leave it for their Lunatic run โ€” and because reading the secret ending before the Lunatic final boss makes that fight feel distinctly different.

Step-by-Step: Sector 7 Secret Room

1

Complete the main story on any difficulty and enter Unknown Signal Mode. The tram at the Shelter now shows all 10 sectors. Travel to Sector 7 โ€” Lunum Mines.

2

Progress through Sector 7 to the room just past the LunaDigger boss arena. During the story this room was sealed โ€” a blast door with a red light. After story completion, the light is now green and the door is cracked open.

3

Interact with the panel to the left of the blast door โ€” Diana will hack it automatically. This is the Sector 7 Access Port. It opens a previously hidden corridor behind the east wall.

4

Follow the corridor. You'll pass through three rooms โ€” each contains Earth memorabilia and one REM fragment. These are the final items needed for 101%. Examine every object in each room thoroughly โ€” use the visor scan (hold L2/LT unarmed) to highlight anything you've missed.

5

The final room at the corridor's end contains a Lunafilament cradle โ€” an object shaped exactly like Diana's core design. Interact with it. A cutscene begins. No further input is required โ€” watch it through to completion.

6

After the cutscene ends, the Entrusted Memory trophy unlocks, your completion jumps to 101%, and the Memories of the Blue Planet Gold trophy also pops if it hasn't already. The secret ending is approximately 4 minutes long โ€” emotionally significant, especially if you've read all 50 data logs before watching it.

โš ๏ธ
Read the data logs first. The secret ending has a very different emotional weight if you've collected all 50 data logs โ€” particularly the five entries in Sector 7 and the final Lunafilament REM series. It recontextualises several specific log entries. The experience is significantly more impactful with full context.
