Region Completion Guide
Thirty-four trophies (more than half the list) come from finishing the seven regions. Each region asks the same five things: climb its Ancient Spire, read its Obelisks, clear its Shroud Roots, find its Flame Shrines and Sanctums, and mine its valuable ores. Cinder's Cradle has no shrine trophy. This page shows how the game itself reveals every one of them, region by region.
All 7 regions at a glance
| Region | Opens at | Enemy level | Roots + Wells | Shrines | Mole ores |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Springlands | Flame 1–2 | 3–9 | 9 + 3 | 13 | Flintstone, Salt |
| Revelwood | Flame 3 | 11–15 | 7 + 3 | 13 | Copper Ore, Amber |
| Nomad Highlands | Flame 4 | 16–20 | 7 + 3 | 13 | Tin Ore, Fossilized Bone |
| Kindlewastes | Flame 5 | 21–27 | 8 + 4 | 13 | Iron Ore, Sulfur, Lapis Lazuli |
| Albaneve Summits | Flame 6–7 | 28–35 | 11 + 2 | 8 | Silver Ore, Amethyst, Obsidian, and Coal to be safe (one PS5 finisher lists it too) |
| Veilwater Basin | Flame 8–9 | 37–45 | 6 + 3 | 8 | Gold Ore, Aquamarine, Mother-of-Pearl |
| Cinder's Cradle | Flame 10–11 | 46–50 | 9 + 0 | no trophy | Celestium, Basalt, Diamond, Moonstone (Moonstone mostly drops from the region's enemies) |
The weeding trophies want every Shroud Root and every Elixir Well in the region (the well's own root counts as one). Counts are from the 1.0 game files: 60 roots and 18 wells across Embervale. Blackmire, the swamp inside Revelwood, has its own spire, obelisk and three roots but no trophies.

Flame upgrades and the Shroud timer
Red mist walls off each new region until your Flame is strong enough. Each upgrade costs Sparks (from Flame Shrines and Sanctums) plus that region's materials, and adds a minute to how long you can stay inside the Shroud.
| Flame | Sparks | Opens | Shroud time |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | – | The start of the Springlands | 5:00 |
| 2 | 1 | The rest of the Springlands | 6:00 |
| 3 | 5 | Revelwood | 7:00 |
| 4 | 10 | Nomad Highlands | 8:00 |
| 5 | 20 | Kindlewastes (also needs the Fell Monstrosity Head) | 9:00 |
| 6 | 30 | Albaneve Summits | 10:00 |
| 7 | 30 | The rest of Albaneve (needs the Fell Cyclops Head) | 11:00 |
| 8 | 40 | Veilwater Basin | 12:00 |
| 9 | 50 | The rest of Veilwater | 13:00 |
| 10 | 60 | Cinder's Cradle | 14:00 |
| 11 | 20 | The rest of Cinder's Cradle; Flame Altars inside the Shroud | 15:00 |
Springlands
| Opens at | Flame level 1–2 · enemies around level 3–9 |
| Ancient Spires | Ancient Spire – Springlands (the main one) and Ancient Spire – Low Meadows in the south. Climb both: the trophy is tied to the main spire, and Low Meadows is a fast-travel point you'll want anyway. |
| Obelisks | 2: The Flame Touched Face and In a World Destined for Ruin |
| Elixir Wells (3) | • West of Ferndale • East of Woodgard • East of Braelyn Bridge |
| Shroud Roots (9) | • North-west of Woodgard • South of Peaceful Acres • East of Small Flint Mine • East of Saline Quarry • Ring of Rot • Fox Chase • +3 roots added in 1.0 on the region's outer edges: they appear on your map after the Obelisks |
| Flame Shrines & Sanctums (13) | • North of Rookmore • West of Rookmore • South-west of Peaceful Acres (Sanctum) • South of Ferndale • West of Wescott • South of Moth's Grove • East of Small Flint Mine • East of Mistbury Catacombs • South of Saline Quarry • South of Netherton • East of Hillock • East of Ancient Vault – Carpenter (Sanctum) • North of Vukah Ceremony Hill |
| Mole ores (mine one of each) | Flintstone, Salt |
The south of the region is safe from level 3; save the northern shrines (around Westcott, Ferndale and the Hill of Scavengers) for level 7 or so. The north-east sanctum past Mistbury Catacombs is guarded by a few Vukah. Flintstone deposits are right by the first base and Salt sits in the Saline Quarry.
Revelwood
| Opens at | Flame level 3 · enemies around level 11–15 |
| Ancient Spire | Ancient Spire – Revelwood |
| Obelisks | 2: Chasms Which Split the Earth and Our Sanctum Amidst the Hollow, Blinded from Within |
| Elixir Wells (3) | • East of Lone Thistle • West of Pikemead's Reach • East of Fort Kelvin |
| Shroud Roots (7) | • Grind Teeth Grotto • South-west of Glenwood's End • Lumenlight Cave • Ancient Bridge • Huckster Square, Pikemead's Reach • Imperial Gardens, Pikemead's Reach • +1 root added in 1.0, revealed by the Obelisks |
| Flame Shrines & Sanctums (13) | • South of Willow Crush • East of Lone Thistle • East of Willow Crush (Sanctum) • East of Diadwyn • Glenwood's End • South-west of Glenwood's End • North of Old Rye (Sanctum) • North-west of Fawnsong Frontier • North of Glimmer Rock Mine (Sanctum) • Glimmer Rock Mine • South of Pikemead's Reach • Imperial Gardens, Pikemead's Reach • Shanty Shacks, Pikemead's Reach |
| Mole ores (mine one of each) | Copper Ore, Amber |
Pikemead's Reach alone holds two roots, three shrines, the Shroud Wyvern and all five Guard of the North pieces, so clear the city in one long visit. Not every Shroud area is a root: some "Shroud Lairs" only hold enemies and gem materials. Blackmire, the swamp in the south-west, has its own spire, obelisk and three roots but no trophies.
Nomad Highlands
| Opens at | Flame level 4 · enemies around level 16–20 |
| Ancient Spire | Ancient Spire – Nomad Highlands |
| Obelisks | 2: Our Eye Towards the Stars, Forever Shut and A Breath of Life, Fading |
| Elixir Wells (3) | • West of Rattlebleak • South of the Pillars of Creation • Umber Hollow |
| Shroud Roots (7) | • Jasper Isles • North-west of Mining Rift • North-east of Cradle of Dusk • West of Bounty Barn • Smothering Pit • East of Southern Caravan Camp • +1 root on the far eastern edge, revealed by the Obelisks |
| Flame Shrines & Sanctums (13) | • North of Mining Rift (Sanctum) • East of Mining Rift • North-east of Pillars of Creation • East of Pillars of Creation (Sanctum) • West of Jasper Isles • South-west of Jasper Isles • South of Vukah Arena (Sanctum) • North-east of Raven's Keep • North of Dragon Cave • South-west of Smothering Pit • South of Lupa's Lair (Sanctum) • North of Lupa's Lair • North of the Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire |
| Mole ores (mine one of each) | Tin Ore, Fossilized Bone |
One Elixir Well's root isn't under its map icon: drop into the Shroud, follow the road to the grappling section and go past the Fell Monstrosity; the root is about 200 m south-west of the icon. The Monstrosity spits Shroud projectiles, so bring ammo and healing. Its head is also what the Flame 5 upgrade needs.
Kindlewastes
| Opens at | Flame level 5 · enemies around level 21–27 |
| Ancient Spire | Ancient Spire – Kindlewastes |
| Obelisks | 2: As the Final Tide Frees Us and Of the Flaw in Us All (one is near the Alchemist's scientific-instruments quest) |
| Elixir Wells (4) | • South of Brittlebush • West of Sapphire Strand • East of Rose Shell Burrow • North of Low Tide |
| Shroud Roots (8) | • Shrouded Camp • South-east of the North-west Sun Temple • Ridgeback Mine • Sleeping Sands • Low Tide • The Grim • +2 roots added in 1.0 on the region's edges, revealed by the Obelisks |
| Flame Shrines & Sanctums (13) | • West of Draconian Vulture Nest • Eldermere Dam • Vukah Sacrifice Hill • East Lapis • North-west of the Kindlewastes Ancient Spire • North of the Kindlewastes Ancient Spire • North of Sapphire Strand • Flame Shrine of Manathor • + the 5 Sun Temples: Haunted, North-west, East, South-east and South-west |
| Mole ores (mine one of each) | Iron Ore, Sulfur, Lapis Lazuli |
The five Sun Temples count towards the Spark trophy. Each one registers the moment the temple's name appears on screen as you go in; you don't need to reach its altar. The exception is the Haunted Sun Temple: squeeze into its deep entrance until the game reveals the "real" entrance on your map, and only then does it count. The South-east Sun Temple also holds the Ghost Glider. This is the region with the most Elixir Wells (4).
Albaneve Summits
| Opens at | Flame level 6–7 · enemies around level 28–35 |
| Ancient Spire | Ancient Spire – Albaneve Summits |
| Obelisks | 2: In These Windswept Summits (among the high peaks) and We Won't Share Our Breath With You (far to the north-east, outside the Shroud) |
| Elixir Wells | • South-east of the Elixir Production Site • West of the Forge of Obsidia • East of Polaris Falls |
| Shroud Roots (11) | • West of Wickmouth • Inside Camellia Lake Marble Quarry • North of Balefire Garrison "White Pine" • Beneath Polaris Falls • South of Enshrouded Goat Farm • Gateway Outpost "Celeste" • +5 more added in 1.0, most of them in the high ground around the Balefires; the Obelisks mark them all |
| Flame Shrines & Sanctums (8) | • Vukah Ceremony Hill • East of Fletcher Marble Quarry • North of Eldermere Dam • North of Howling Peak • West of Skeleton Excavation Camp "Mae" • West of Pretty Patty's Pumpkin Farm • South of Everfrore Keep • South of Howling Peak |
| Mole ores (mine one of each) | Silver Ore, Amethyst, Obsidian, and Coal to be safe (one PS5 finisher lists it too) |
The region with the most roots (11). One Elixir Well holds three roots along a single long route: use the updrafts to cross the chasm for the first, cross again for the second, and the third is up top behind a Fell Cyclops. Put a Flame Altar on Howling Peak, the highest point in Embervale: it saves endless digging between the peaks and sits right by the Dragon's arena. Bring cold-resistant gear. The wiki names three wells here while the 1.0 files count two: clear every well icon your map shows and you're covered.
Veilwater Basin
| Opens at | Flame level 8–9 · enemies around level 37–45 |
| Ancient Spire | Ancient Spire – Veilwater Basin (part of the climb drops you into dark water past spike traps; there's air to refill near a button on the lower level) |
| Obelisks | 2: Old Wounds Reopen (north-east of the spire) and Ones We Carved Ourselves (underwater, at the bottom of the north-western lagoon) |
| Elixir Wells (3) | • East of Orville • North-west of Goldrock Saddle • South of Mining Rift |
| Shroud Roots (6) | • East of Riverreach • South of Cargo Lift • East of Aquamarine Mine • North of Goldrock Saddle • East of Cromville Throneroom (the last one most people miss: go past the throne room and down below it) • North of Stillwater Bay |
| Flame Shrines & Sanctums (8) | • Inside Snapjaw Ruin • North-east of Old Hag's Hut • South-east of the Ancient Spire • North of Aquamarine Mine • South-east of Capybara Oasis • North of Goldrock Saddle • North of Hermit Camp • East of Mining Rift |
| Mole ores (mine one of each) | Gold Ore, Aquamarine, Mother-of-Pearl |
Get the Flame to level 9 before the deep Shroud areas here. Nine targets in total for the weeding trophy: 3 wells plus 6 roots. Gold also drops in bulk from the region's enemies, but mine at least one deposit for the trophy.
Cinder's Cradle
| Opens at | Flame level 10–11 · enemies around level 46–50 |
| Ancient Spires | Two spires: Sky Islands and Citadel. Climb both; they're your fast-travel points for the final region. |
| Obelisks | Read every Obelisk the spires reveal (the 1.0 region is too new for a full public list) |
| Elixir Wells (0) | None in this region |
| Shroud Roots (9) | • Nine roots in the 1.0 game files (Keen's own patch notes say twelve, counting roots elsewhere that you reach from here) • Two are inside two of the six sanctuaries (the Beacon dungeons of the main quest) • Lighting the six Beacons does not clear the roots: check your map before you leave for the Floating Isles |
| Flame Shrines & Sanctums | No Spark trophy for this region. |
| Mole ores (mine one of each) | Celestium, Basalt, Diamond, Moonstone (Moonstone mostly drops from the region's enemies) |
Important for the older regions too: the six sanctuaries teleport you to other parts of Embervale. If you ever saw a root behind a big sealed temple door in an earlier region, this is how you reach it. From Flame 11 you can also build Flame Altars inside the Shroud, which makes the last roots far easier.

Springlands stargazer

Springlands stargazer
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Reach the top of the Springlands Ancient Spire. Ancient Spire – Springlands (the main one) and Ancient Spire – Low Meadows in the south. Climb both: the trophy is tied to the main spire, and Low Meadows is a fast-travel point you'll want anyway. Each spire is a climbing puzzle of locked doors, switches and traps; at the top, talk to the Flame. That unlocks the spire as a fast-travel point and marks the region's Obelisks on your map, which is how every other Springlands trophy starts.
Tip
Your first spire: the Blacksmith's quest The Ancient Spires sends you there right after your first Elixir Well.

Mole of the Springlands

Mole of the Springlands
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Mine every valuable material in Springlands: Flintstone, Salt. Pull at least one of each straight out of a deposit with your pickaxe. Sources disagree on whether ore from chests or enemies counts, so mining it yourself is the safe way. Ordinary stone, dirt and plants don't count.
Tip
You need these ores for the region's Flame upgrade anyway, so it usually pops on its own.

Read every Ancient Obelisk in Springlands. 2: The Flame Touched Face and In a World Destined for Ruin. The spire marks them on your map. Reading one reveals the region's Shroud Roots (the Obelisks of Rot) or its Flame Shrines and Sanctums (the Obelisks of Fire), so do them before you go hunting.
Tip
Can't be missed, and it pays for itself: after the Obelisks you never need an outside map for this region.

Springland weeding

Springland weeding
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Destroy every Shroud Root in Springlands: 9 roots and all 3 Elixir Wells (West of Ferndale, East of Woodgard, East of Braelyn Bridge), so 12 targets in all by the game's own count. Roots sit deep in the Shroud or at the bottom of wells; hit them with your axe, which is much faster than a weapon. A cleared root gets a small tick on its purple map icon, so it's easy to see what's left. If you can't find a way in, stand above the icon and dig straight down.
Tip
The three roots added in 1.0 sit on the region's outer edges, so check the corners of the map, not just the Shroud pockets you walked through.

Tip
Do the four southern shrines around level 3 and the four northern ones (Westcott, Ferndale, Mistbury Catacombs) from about level 7.

A cleared root gets a small tick on its purple map icon, so it's easy to see what's left. If you can't find a way in, stand above the icon and dig straight down.
Tip
The one people miss is east of the Cromville Throneroom: go past the throne room and down below it.

Spark of the Veilwater Basin
BronzeFull guideCollapse Find all flame shrines and sanctums in the Veilwater Basin.

Spark of the Veilwater Basin
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Visit every Flame Shrine and Sanctum in Veilwater Basin: 8 in total, all revealed by the region's Obelisks. You only need to reach each one. The game doesn't mark shrines you've already visited, so drop a custom map marker on each as you go. Flame Altars you build yourself don't count.
Tip
Shrines also give Sparks for the Flame upgrades, so you lose nothing by doing them early.

Cinder's Cradle stargazer
BronzeFull guideCollapse Scaled the ancient spire in the Cinder's Cradle

Cinder's Cradle stargazer
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Reach the top of the Cinder's Cradle Ancient Spire. Two spires: Sky Islands and Citadel. Climb both; they're your fast-travel points for the final region. Each spire is a climbing puzzle of locked doors, switches and traps; at the top, talk to the Flame. That unlocks the spire as a fast-travel point and marks the region's Obelisks on your map, which is how every other Cinder's Cradle trophy starts.
Tip
Climb both spires: each is a fast-travel point you'll use constantly in the last region.

Mole of the Cinder's Cradle
BronzeFull guideCollapse Mine every valuable material in the Cinder's Cradle.

Mole of the Cinder's Cradle
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Mine every valuable material in Cinder's Cradle: Celestium, Basalt, Diamond, Moonstone (Moonstone mostly drops from the region's enemies).

Cinder's Cradle secret keeper
BronzeFull guideCollapse Read all obelisks in the Cinder's Cradle.

Cinder's Cradle secret keeper
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Read every Ancient Obelisk in Cinder's Cradle. Read every Obelisk the spires reveal (the 1.0 region is too new for a full public list).

Cinder's Cradle Weeding
BronzeFull guideCollapse Clear the Cinder's Cradle of all shroud roots.

Cinder's Cradle Weeding
BronzeFull guideCollapseHow to earn it
Destroy every Shroud Root in Cinder's Cradle: 9 roots (there are no Elixir Wells here), so 9 targets in all by the game's own count. Roots sit deep in the Shroud or at the bottom of wells; hit them with your axe, which is much faster than a weapon. A cleared root gets a small tick on its purple map icon, so it's easy to see what's left. If you can't find a way in, stand above the icon and dig straight down.
Tip
Two roots are inside two of the six sanctuaries. Lighting the Beacons doesn't clear them, so check the map before the Floating Isles.
