All 8 Hidden Bells โ€” Toll of Pywel

The 8 Hidden Bells are the single most important collectibles in the entire game. Ringing all 8 reveals the full map of Pywel, making every subsequent collectible, challenge, and artifact hunt dramatically easier. Do this before almost everything else. Pailune Bell is story-locked โ€” you must reach Chapter 7 before it becomes accessible. Do the other 7 first.

๐Ÿ””
How bells work: Each bell is a tall structure found at a high point in each region. Interact with the bell to ring it. The bell unfogs a large section of the world map and reveals road outlines, landmarks, and the positions of hidden areas. Budget 5+ hours to activate all 8 bells and fast travel points along the way.
1

Hernand Bell

On a hilltop in the northern Hernand region. Accessible from Hour 1. Head north from Hernand Castle and follow the elevated road.

2

Hernand South Bell

Southern Hernand, near the Scholastone Research Institute. Take the southern road from Hernand city and watch for the hill marker.

3

Demeniss Bell #1

Northern Demeniss region โ€” combine this run with Artifact collection in the area. Look for the bell tower visible from the main northern road.

4

Demeniss Bell #2

Central Demeniss, near the Spire of Clockwork. The bell sits on a raised platform overlooking the valley. Requires climbing or gliding to reach.

5

Delysia Bell

Western Delysia region. Higher enemy density โ€” come prepared with potions. The bell is near Chittering Forest on a clifftop.

6

Crimson Desert Bell

In the main Crimson Desert region. Endgame-level enemies surround the area. Save for after completing the main story or ensure your gear is fully upgraded.

7

Delysia East Bell

East Delysia, near the Windrose Farm area. One of the more remote bells โ€” use a fast travel point as a base and ride toward the eastern coast.

8

Pailune Bell โš ๏ธ LOCKED

Story-locked. Requires completing Chapter 7 โ€” the Protector of Pailune story section. Return here after finishing Pailune's main quest chain.

Expert Explorer โ€” Gold

The Expert Explorer gold trophy is earned by completing every exploration challenge โ€” the most time-consuming non-combat trophy in the game. It covers 40 Abyss restoration challenges, 60 secret places (Wandering Footsteps), 37 ancient ruins puzzles, and 8 spire challenges. Some are gated behind story progression.

๐Ÿงฉ

Puzzle Solver โ€” Silver

Silver

Complete all 37 Ancient Ruins puzzles scattered across Pywel. These are the most mentally demanding challenges in the game โ€” each ruin has a unique puzzle type.

  • Tile puzzles โ€” Walk a path between matching symbols without repeating tiles (Precipice of Echoes, 7ร—7 grid)
  • Bell puzzles โ€” Ring bells in the correct order shown on a nearby pinboard (Steel Mountains Camp area)
  • Checkerboard puzzles โ€” Place 5 white stones in a row at each intersection of lines (Duskwood Waterside Ruins)
  • Map puzzles โ€” A wall map shows locations to visit; find and press the marked symbols in sequence (Azure Moon Labyrinth, between Witchwoods and Phoniel Ranch)
๐Ÿ’ก
Azure Moon Labyrinth shortcut: The map puzzle normally requires visiting multiple locations, but if you know the button sequence, you can solve it directly. The buttons to press are marked on the wall โ€” photograph or note them down before pressing anything.

How to Solve: Precipice of Echoes (Tile Puzzle)

You'll find a 7ร—7 grid of tiles. Each tile has a symbol. Walk from one symbol to a matching tile across the grid without stepping on any tile you've already stepped on. The path must be continuous โ€” plan it visually before stepping. If you step on a tile twice, the puzzle resets. Work from the edges inward.

How to Solve: Bell Order Puzzles

Look left of the bells for the pinboard showing the correct ringing sequence. The order is always displayed nearby โ€” don't guess. Ring them with the mallet in the correct sequence. If you ring one in the wrong order, all bells reset after a short delay. Read the full sequence before starting.

How to Solve: Abyss Technology Puzzles (Abyss Zone)

The Abyss puzzles involve "fixing and manipulating Abyss technology" โ€” usually rotating mechanical components or connecting power nodes. Look for glowing lines that indicate active connections. Follow the flow from the source node to the terminal. Use Blinding Flash in the Abyss to reveal hidden interactive elements.

๐Ÿ”๏ธ

Conqueror of Spires โ€” Silver

Silver

Requirement: Complete all 8 Spire challenges ยท Missable: No ยท Difficulty: 4/10. Spires are tall landmark structures (peaks and towers) scattered across Pywel; each one's "Land Meets Sky" challenge completes the instant you reach its summit.

Good news for the platinum: most spires are reached naturally while following the main story, so this rarely needs a dedicated session. Open Journal โ†’ Challenges โ†’ Land Meets Sky at any time to see all 8 with their exact map markers and tick off only what's left.

Topping a spire cleanly:

  • Climb via ledges and parkour; the marker triggers the moment you stand on the highest point โ€” look for a small shrine, flag, or interact prompt at the very top if it won't pop.
  • A few peaks need the Aerial Maneuver skill (mid-game). If a spire seems impossible early, leave it and come back once it's unlocked.
  • Upgrade stamina and carry recovery food before the tallest climbs so you don't slip near the summit.
๐Ÿช‚
Descend safely: the Abyss glider (available after your first Abyss visit) lets you leap off any summit without fall damage โ€” pop it to reach the next objective fast and skip re-climbing.
๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ

Maze Pathfinder โ€” Silver

Silver

Requirement: Complete all 4 Maze challenges ยท Missable: No ยท Difficulty: 3/10. Mazes are enclosed labyrinth areas (distinct from the open-world Ancient Ruins puzzles) where you navigate tangled paths to a central objective.

  • There are only 4, so this is quick once you know where they are โ€” track them under Journal โ†’ Challenges, which pins each maze on your map.
  • Unfog the surrounding region first (ring its Hidden Bells) so the maze entrances actually appear.
  • Inside, follow one wall (the left-hand rule) to guarantee full coverage, and watch for shortcut levers or gates that open later sections.
  • Some sit behind story progress โ€” if an entrance is sealed, return after advancing the campaign.
๐Ÿงญ
Don't confuse mazes with Sanctums: the Sanctum ("Lightbringer") challenges are a separate set โ€” Maze Pathfinder only needs the 4 true labyrinths, so don't burn time chasing the wrong icon.

Beast Slayer & Lifestyle Trophies

The lifestyle category covers Crimson Desert's non-combat systems: animal taming, horse bonding, hunting, minigames, trading, and NPC relationships. None of these trophies are missable, but they are genuinely time-consuming. Save this category for after you've finished the story and core combat trophies.

๐Ÿพ

Tame 30 Pets โ€” Bronze

Bronze

Requirement: Tame 30 animals ยท Missable: No โ€” it counts retroactively ยท Difficulty: 3/10, but the biggest time-sink in the lifestyle set. You tame an animal by raising its Trust to 100, then selecting Take In.

How Trust works โ€” the exact numbers:

  • Petting: +25 Trust per day (once per in-game day, so petting alone is a 4-day bond).
  • Feeding: +10 for standard food, +35 for the animal's favourite โ€” favourites are by far the fastest route to 100.
  • Combine them: a favourite feed (+35) plus a daily pet (+25) tames most animals in just 1โ€“2 in-game days.
โšก
Instant-tame shortcuts: a Bone instantly tames any dog, and a Golden Carp (or any legendary fish) instantly maxes a cat's Trust. You can grab fish by hand by swimming up to them โ€” stock a few and several of your 30 are basically free.
  • Cumulative & retroactive: animals tamed before the trophy's Abyss Artifact unlocked still count โ€” check your running total before grinding more.
  • Stick to common animals near camp (dogs, cats, rabbits, deer); don't chase rare beasts for this one.
  • Assign tamed animals to your camp afterward for passive lifestyle rewards.
๐Ÿด

Horse Tamer โ€” Bronze

Bronze

Requirement: Tame wild horses and complete the horse-taming tasks ยท Missable: No ยท Difficulty: 3/10. Wild horses roam the open plains of Hernand and Pailune; the sequence is slow approach โ†’ calm โ†’ mount without being bucked off.

  • Crouch-walk toward the horse from the side or behind to avoid spooking it; freeze if it raises its head.
  • Hold the interact prompt to start the bond, then feed Carrots or Apples to fill the trust gauge faster.
  • When you mount, counter the buck prompts (it'll try to throw you a few times) until the gauge fills and it settles.
  • Register the horse at any stable to keep it permanently and free a slot for the next.
  • Rarer, higher-stat breeds appear in Delysia and endgame regions โ€” worth taming for your main mount.
๐Ÿ‡
Going for the platinum? The bigger horse trophy โ€” Tamer of Legends โ€” wants all 10 Horse Challenges (unlocked via Sealed Abyss Artifacts): racing, jumps and handling tasks. Level up one well-bonded, high-stat mount first, then run them all on it.
๐ŸŽฎ

Minigame Mastery โ€” Bronze

Bronze

Requirement: Clear the minigame challenge set across all 5 subcategories โ€” Test of Strength, Shooting, Mind Games, Duel and Racing ยท Missable: No, but a few have limited attempts, so save before each. This is the same family of challenges as True Gamer โ€” see that guide for the exact location and champion of every match.

  • Mind Games (rock-paper-scissors, Duo, Five-Card): win 3 in a row; the Deceiver's Fedora reveals an opponent's deck for the card games.
  • Shooting & Test of Strength: first-to-10 target contests and QTE arm/hand wrestling โ€” beat a 3-win streak, then the Champion.
  • Duel & Racing: arena 1v1s (parry/counter) and the horse race โ€” the most skill-based of the set.
  • Save-scum freely: the game itself recommends a manual save before every minigame session; reload instantly if a streak breaks.
๐ŸŽฏ
Do it alongside True Gamer: the two overlap heavily โ€” work straight down the True Gamer checklist and Minigame Mastery completes on the same pass.
๐Ÿ’ฐ

Merchant of Pywel โ€” Bronze

Bronze

Requirement: Complete all 5 Trade challenges ยท Missable: No ยท Difficulty: 2/10. These task you with moving goods through the economy โ€” selling livestock and trade goods and using the banking system.

  • Track them under Journal โ†’ Challenges โ†’ Trade; each names the exact item, quantity and buyer.
  • Livestock: breed and sell at the camp ranch (unlocked via its faction quest) โ€” e.g. selling goats to Bram at the camp clears one of the five.
  • Generate stock cheaply: mining loops in the Crimson Desert region (Scolecite / Azurite) give plenty of sellable resources in the endgame.
  • Bank excess Silver at a banking NPC to dodge carry penalties while you stockpile.
๐Ÿ’ฐ
Pair it with farming runs: you're already gathering and selling for money โ€” just steer those sales toward the specific items each Trade challenge asks for and the trophy falls out naturally.

Shadowlord & Battlefield Conqueror โ€” Missable Silvers

โš ๏ธ
These two are the most commonly missed trophies in the game. Both require you to complete challenges at specific enemy camps before liberating them. Once a camp is liberated, its challenges disappear permanently. Check every camp's challenge list before clearing it.
๐ŸŒ‘

Shadowlord โ€” Silver (Missable)

Silverโš  Missable

Requirement: Complete all 10 "Above the Law" challenges ยท Missable: YES ยท Difficulty: 5/10. These are outlaw/stealth tasks โ€” eliminate targets undetected, steal unseen, and deal with bounties.

โš ๏ธ
The trap that catches everyone โ€” "Back Alley Cleanup." It needs you to turn in bounties, and bounty opportunities are finite. If you cash or exhaust them all before doing this challenge, the trophy becomes impossible without a full replay. Do the bounty-related challenges EARLY and don't empty every bounty board first.
  • Open Journal โ†’ Challenges โ†’ Above the Law and read the whole list before progressing โ€” clear anything tied to bounties or a specific camp the moment it appears.
  • For the stealth tasks: crouch, learn patrol routes, and strike from behind โ€” the Backstab skill one-shots unalerted enemies, so invest in it early.
  • Fail a stealth attempt? Leave the area and return to reset enemy alert states, then retry.
  • Track your count as you go โ€” alongside Battlefield Conqueror, this is one of the two most-missed trophies in the game.
โš”๏ธ

Battlefield Conqueror โ€” Silver (Missable)

Silverโš  Missable

Win every battlefield challenge across Pywel. These are large-scale combat encounters at designated battlefield zones โ€” different from standard camps. Each one has specific win conditions beyond just clearing enemies.

  • Some battlefield challenges require killing enemies in a specific order or using specific skills
  • Others require protecting an NPC or reaching an objective under time pressure
  • Check Journal โ†’ Battlefield Challenges list for the exact condition at each site before engaging
  • Liberate watchtowers only after completing any challenges tied to them โ€” watchtower-related challenges are flagged in the guide above
