Gathering, Crafting & Survival

The early survival milestones — mining, woodcutting, building a base, cooking, fishing, farming, runecrafting and the first steps of each skill. Most pop naturally in your opening hours in Ashenfall.

Swift Pick

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Mine an ore.

TypeBronze

How to earn it

One of the very first things the game teaches. In the opening Brynmoor hours you build a crafting table and stone tools; make a pickaxe and swing it at any ore node — copper and tin veins sit right around the starting valley near Doric's temple. Any single ore mined pops it.

Tip

Mining is also a core platinum skill — you'll grind it to 99 for Everything Is Oresome, and the Rocksplosion spell later shatters a whole cluster of deposits at once (that's It's All Mine!). Unmissable.

Chop Chop

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Chop down a tree.

TypeBronze

How to earn it

Just as basic as mining. The opening quest has you gather ash logs to build your first crafting table and stone club, so you'll swing an axe at a tree within the first few minutes. Any felled tree counts.

Tip

Woodcutting is one of the twelve level-99 grinds (Everything Is Treemendous), and the Axtral Projection spell fells several trees per cast later (You Axed For It). Logs feed nearly every early recipe. Unmissable.

Stab, Slash, Crush!

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Construct a weapon.

TypeBronze

How to earn it

Your first real weapon is the stone club, built at the crafting table from roughly 6 ash logs and 8 stones during the opening quest with Doric. Any weapon you craft — club, sword, axe, mace or bow — triggers this the moment it's made, not when you swing it.

Tip

Build one as soon as you have a crafting table; you need a weapon to survive the first Brynmoor nights anyway. Unmissable.

Sheltered

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Build a base and claim a bed.

TypeBronze

How to earn it

Build a base and claim a bed. Place enough building pieces to form a shelter, then build and interact with a bed to set your respawn. Core early survival step.

Tip

A claimed bed is your respawn and fast-travel anchor — build one in each region you settle.

One Misthalin Star

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Cook a food item.

TypeBronze

How to earn it

The first of three cooking-themed trophies (the 'Misthalin Star' set). Build a campfire or cooking station, drop in any raw ingredient — raw meat from a hunted animal, or a fish — and cook it once.

Tip

You'll cook constantly to stay fed, so this pops in the first hour. Cooking is also a 99 skill (Three Misthalin Stars). Catch, cook and eat a fish in one sitting to also grab Catch Of The Day and Winner Winner Fish Dinner.

Crafting To Your Own Rune

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Craft a rune.

TypeBronze

How to earn it

Introduces the Runecrafting skill. Once you reach a Runecrafting altar, carry rune essence to it and craft it into runes — a single craft is all this needs.

Tip

Runecrafting is one of the twelve 99 grinds (Altar Native), and runes power your Magic spells, so start banking essence early and craft in bulk each altar run to save trips.

Fred Would Be Proud

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Plant a seed.

TypeBronze

How to earn it

A nod to Fred the Farmer from classic RuneScape. Set up a farming plot, till the soil and plant any seed to start the Farming skill. The trophy fires on planting, not harvesting.

Tip

Farming levels to 99 for Granny's Favourite Farmer, and the Uproot spell harvests up to 24 plots at once (Gotta Patch 'Em All). Get a plot down as soon as you have spare wood.

Catch Of The Day

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Catch a fish.

TypeBronze

How to earn it

Starts the Fishing skill. Craft a fishing rod, find any fishing spot (the rivers and ponds around Brynmoor have them) and reel in a single catch.

Tip

Fishing is a 99 grind (Maximum Effishiency); frenzied fishing spots plus the Fishnado spell give the fastest hauls later. Catch, cook and eat a fish in one go for three trophies at once.

Winner Winner Fish Dinner

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Eat any fish based food.

TypeBronze

How to earn it

Cook a fish (or any recipe made from fish) at a campfire/cooking station, then eat it. Only fish-based food counts — plain meat or berries won't trigger it.

Tip

Chain it with Catch Of The Day (catch) and One Misthalin Star (cook) for three trophies from one fish. Fish meals are also efficient early food and healing.

Honed Edge

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Enchant a weapon.

TypeBronze

How to earn it

Apply a magic enchantment to any weapon at the appropriate crafting/enchanting station — this adds an elemental or magical effect on top of the base weapon.

Tip

Enchant a weapon you've also sharpened with a whetstone and you'll unlock Sharp And Shiny (both a magic enchant and a whetstone hone active on the same weapon) at the same time.

Two Misthalin Stars

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Make an iconic meal.

TypeBronze

How to earn it

Make an iconic meal. Cook one of the game's special 'iconic' recipes (a multi-ingredient dish), a step up from a basic cooked item. Requires the recipe and its ingredients.

Tip

Unlock recipes as your Cooking level rises; iconic meals give strong food buffs useful for boss fights.

Medal Winner

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Get your first Gold medal.

TypeBronze

How to earn it

Medals come from the timed Agility courses dotted around the world. Run a course cleanly and quickly enough to score a Gold rating just once.

Tip

Learn one short course's route and rhythm — a single clean Gold pops this. It's the first step toward Medal Collector (a Gold on every course) and the Agility 99, Amazingly Acrobatic.

Doric's Fire Fried Chicken

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Kill a chicken with a fireball.

TypeBronze

How to earn it

Kill a chicken with a fireball. A quick gag — learn a fire spell (Fire Bolt/Blast), find a chicken in a farm/settlement, and roast it with fire magic.

Tip

Any low-level fire spell works; chickens are common around Brynmoor's farms.
