MAFIA THE OLD COUNTRY

Hangar 13 goes back to where it all began — 1900s Sicily, sulphur mines and the birth of the Cosa Nostra. Enzo Favara's climb from indentured mine boy to made man is the most focused, most beautiful Mafia yet.

Our Verdict

The Old Country is the smartest thing the series has done in years: instead of another sprawling American crime sandbox, it goes small, early and personal. Sicily is stunning — dust, lemon groves and candlelit chapels — and the tighter, more linear structure lets Enzo's story actually breathe. Combat leans on knives and scarce ammunition in a way that feels genuinely period-appropriate, and the horse riding is a lovely touch. It's shorter and narrower than Mafia III, and that's exactly the point. A confident, handsome prequel.

The Don — Full Roadmap

A fair, well-designed platinum. There's no online, and Free Roam plus Chapter Replay mean you can go back for anything — even the one-shot mission challenges. The real work is a full Hard run for True Soldato and the 143 collectibles, with the Free Ride update adding a Classic run and three activity sets on top.

🇮🇹 Two long jobs, no permanent losses. True Soldato needs every chapter completed on Hard — you can't shortcut it by replaying the last chapter — and The Collector wants the full 143-collectible sweep. The good news: Chapter Replay and Free Roam stay open after the credits, so the one-shot challenges (Fantasma, Silent Hunter, Worthy Opponent, Not So Fast) can all be retried. The Free Ride update adds 5 more trophies including a Classic difficulty run.

Step-by-Step Roadmap

Step 1

Play the story on Hard

Start straight on Hard so True Soldato and The Old Country come from the same run. Combat rewards patience — cover, headshots and knife takedowns. Grab collectibles as you pass them and try the mission challenges (Fantasma, Silent Hunter, The Old Ways, Worthy Opponent, Not So Fast) in the moment.

Step 2

Mop up combat & weapon trophies

Work through the five Rare Weapons Expert trophies one weapon at a time, plus knife takedowns, headshots and explosive kills. These stack naturally with the stealth challenges you're already doing.

Step 3

Free Roam: collectibles

With the story done, sweep Sicily for the 143 collectibles — 50 Mystery Foxes, 50 newspapers, 23 photographs, 20 Saint Cards and the Trinacria coins — for Mystery Fox Domination and the gold The Collector.

Step 4

Cars, horses & Free Ride activities

Knock out the driving and horse trophies (Daredevil, Getaway Driver, Full Steam Ahead, both customizations), buy out Pasquale's showroom, then clear the Free Ride sets — all Races, Standoffs and Assassinations with at least a medal each.

Step 5

The Classic run → Platinum

If you're going for 100%, finish with a full Classic playthrough for Classico. When the last trophy lands, The Don is yours.

Detailed Trophy Pages

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to platinum Mafia: The Old Country?
Around 30–40 hours for the base 51 trophies, including a Hard playthrough and the full collectible sweep. Add several more hours if you're also doing the Free Ride update's Classic difficulty run.
How hard is the platinum?
PIXELFORGE rates it 5 / 10. Nothing is permanently missable and there's no online, but True Soldato requires every chapter on Hard, and the Free Ride update adds an even tougher Classic run.
Are there missable trophies?
No. Several trophies are one-shot mission challenges — Fantasma, Silent Hunter, The Old Ways, Worthy Opponent and Not So Fast — but Chapter Replay and Free Roam stay available after the story, so you can go back and retry any of them.
How many collectibles are there?
143 across the main sets: 50 Mystery Foxes, 50 newspapers, 23 photographs and 20 Saint Cards, plus the Trinacria coins tied to Bona Furtuna. All of them feed the gold The Collector.
How many trophies does it have?
51 in the base game (1 platinum, 2 gold, 10 silver, 38 bronze). The free Free Ride update adds 5 more — Classico, Firestarter, Speed Demon, Seasoned Hunter and Deadly Assassin — for 56 total and 1,440 points.
