Make it a habit on your first Rivendell visit to talk to every named NPC — Frodo, Elrond, Aragorn and Bilbo — before taking any quest that moves the story on.

Kill the snow trolls encountered in the frozen northern chapters. Trolls are heavy-hitters — stagger them with ranged/heavy attacks and punish when they're stunned.

Boss kill — Tharzog, the orc warlord, is a story boss in the Nordinbad stretch. Use pillars/space to avoid his charges and burst him when he's winded.

Boss kill in the Barrow-downs. The Wight Lord summons adds and drains — clear the adds, keep your healer topped up, and focus him between summons.

Tip

Note the forum-reported final-hit bug on this fight: keep a manual save from just before it so a glitched kill doesn't cost you progress.

Boss kill — the stone giant Bargrisar. Dodge his ground-pound shockwaves, then unload while he recovers.

Boss kill — the sorcerer Wulfrun. He shields and teleports; break the shield (Andriel's magic helps), then burst him before he repositions.

In Mirkwood, find the orc camp holding a captured elf and free him. It's off the main path — you have to explore the area properly to find it.

Tip

Missable: sweep Mirkwood's side paths rather than following the objective marker straight through. Some players report it can bug if you blow past the camp, so clear the area before advancing.

Boss kill — the great spider Saenathra in Mirkwood. She webs and spawns spiderlings; keep moving, clear the small ones, and hit her fangs when she rears up.

How to earn it

Story-forced — your party's tense audience with the dragon Úrgost. Surviving the encounter is all that's needed.

Complete the defence of the dwarf-hold Nordinbad. A big set-piece — use the war machines (ballistae/catapults) here, which also feeds War-machinist.

Complete the Mount Gundabad chapter and bring down the citadel. Story-forced within the level.

The final boss — Agandaûr. He's aggressive with fire magic and a big weapon; use cover, revive downed allies, and burn him down in phases.

Tip

If you're going for Eagle Savior, do NOT summon Beleram during this fight — beat Agandaûr with your party alone. You can get Hero of the North and Eagle Savior in the same kill.
