Campaign, Difficulty & LASO
The backbone of the platinum: finishing all 13 missions, clearing the difficulty ladder, and — the big one — MYTHIC, the Legendary All-Skulls-On run that's one of the two Gold trophies and the single hardest thing in the game.
The smart route through the campaign
- Do a first pass on a lower difficulty to learn the levels and grab collectibles — you need every skull unlocked before you can attempt LASO anyway.
- Then run Legendary for Living Legend (which stacks the other three difficulties), knocking out mission-completion trophies along the way.
- Save MYTHIC (LASO) for last, once you know the levels cold and have every skull. It's a Legendary run with all skulls active at once.

Each mission awards its own completion Bronze the first time you clear it, on any difficulty. Play the campaign through once and all 13 unlock naturally. The 10 classic missions run Pillar of Autumn → The Maw; the 3 new missions (Boarding Action, The Most Dangerous Game, Heavy Burden) slot into the campaign too.

Beat the whole campaign on Legendary — enemies hit far harder, Grunts throw plasma constantly and Elites shrug off damage. One Legendary run awards all four difficulty trophies at once, so this is the run to prioritise.
Tips
- Fight cover to cover — never push into the open. Let shields regen between engagements.
- Prioritise plasma weapons for shields, ballistic for health (the classic plasma-pistol + magnum combo melts Elites).
- The Library is the Legendary gauntlet — conserve ammo, keep moving, and let Flood thin themselves out.

LASO = Legendary, All Skulls On. You beat the entire campaign on Legendary with every gameplay-altering skull active at once — so you must collect all 39 skulls before you can even attempt it. This is the platinum's hardest trophy and one of its two Golds.
How to survive it
- Run it mission by mission. LASO progress is tracked per mission — clear each one, then move on. You do not have to do it in a single sitting.
- Learn the skull stack. The nastiest modifiers are Black Eye (shields only recharge by meleeing enemies), Catch (enemies throw far more grenades), Tough Luck (enemies dodge and always make saving throws), Famine (dropped weapons have less ammo) and Mythic (enemies have double health). Play around them: keep a melee target handy for Black Eye, and never stand near grenade spam.
- Abuse checkpoints. If a checkpoint triggers mid-fight while you're exposed, back off before it saves so you don't get stuck in a death loop. Learn where each mission's brutal checkpoints land.
- Keep the plasma-pistol + headshot combo for every Elite, and pick up a Fuel Rod / Rocket Launcher for the Hunters and tight Flood rooms.
