DYING LIGHT THE BEAST

Techland brings back Kyle Crane for a leaner, meaner Dying Light — brutal night survival, first-person parkour and a monstrous new Beast Mode across Castor Woods. The series' highest-rated entry, and a relaxed 3/10 platinum built on exploration.

Our Verdict

Dying Light: The Beast strips the series back to what it does best — tense first-person survival, weighty parkour, and that heart-pounding scramble for shelter when night falls and the Volatiles wake up. Castor Woods is a moody, atmospheric playground, Kyle Crane's revenge story gives it real bite, and the new Beast Mode adds a satisfying pressure-release to the toughest fights. Combat can feel a touch familiar and the map is more compact than DL2's Villedor, but as a focused, standalone package it's the strongest Dying Light yet — and a genuinely great value for survival-horror fans.

The Beast Unleashed — Full Roadmap

One of the friendlier open-world platinums going. It's long, not hard: a single playthrough, no difficulty trophies on the base list, and nothing missable. The time goes into exploration — 100 collectibles, 23 safe zones, 11 substations, 20 side quests and maxing your skills and blueprints.

Missable
🧟 Long, but low-stress. The base platinum has no difficulty trophies and nothing missable — the whole thing is doable in free-roam after the story. Keep Survivor Sense (R3) on to spot collectibles, and lean on our collectible-locations page for all 100.

Step-by-Step Roadmap

Step 1

Play the story & open up the map

Work through the campaign and, as you pass through each region, activate every safe zone and substation, and keep Survivor Sense (R3) on to hoover up collectibles. Restoring safe zones early makes all the cleanup faster.

Step 2

Finish the story, Chimeras & skills

Complete the campaign (Glimpse into the Future), hunt all 9 Chimeras to fully unlock the Beast tree (Ultimate Beast), and max your Agility / Power / Survival trees (Ultimate Survivor).

Step 3

Clean up the open world

Free-roam the rest: all 20 side quests, all 23 safe zones, all 11 substations, and all 100 collectibles (use our locations page). Nothing is missable, so mop up region by region.

Step 4

Combat & craft trophies

Knock out the odds and ends — 49 blueprints maxed (Craftsman), plus the flamethrower, Beast-power, vehicle, dropkick, revolver and racing trophies. Most tick up naturally by now.

Step 5

Platinum → then DLC (optional)

When the last base trophy pops, The Beast Unleashed is yours. For 100%, tackle the DLC packs — New Game+, Nightmare difficulty and the Restored Land mode — none of which are needed for the platinum.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to platinum Dying Light: The Beast?
Around 60–70 hours. The story is ~20–25 hours; the rest is open-world cleanup — 100 collectibles, all safe zones/substations, side quests and maxing your skills and blueprints.
How hard is the Dying Light: The Beast platinum?
PIXELFORGE rates it 3 / 10. There are no difficulty trophies on the base platinum and nothing is missable — it's a long, relaxed completion rather than a hard one. The only fiddly trophy is Gunslinger (6 revolver headshots in 20s).
Are there missable trophies in Dying Light: The Beast?
No. Everything can be cleaned up in free-roam after the story, so you can't permanently miss anything.
How many trophies does Dying Light: The Beast have?
The base game has 31 (1 platinum, 6 gold, 9 silver, 15 bronze) worth 1,335 points — that's all you need for the platinum. Three DLC packs (NewGame+ & Legendary Levels, Nightmare, Restored Land) add 12 more for a full 43 / 1,620 points.
Do you need New Game+ or Nightmare for the platinum?
No. NG+, Nightmare difficulty and Restored Land mode are all DLC trophies for 100% completion — the base platinum needs none of them.
