Control Resonant
Remedy's Control sequel takes the paranatural to a warped Manhattan. Our review, the platinum roadmap, and all 50 trophies explained in depth โ the six Resonant bosses, the upgrades and the full Manhattan cleanup.
The Review
The Oldest House goes to Manhattan
Remedy finally follows up its 2019 cult hit, and Control Resonant is a bigger, stranger swing. You step into the shoes of Dylan Faden, pulled into a warped Manhattan where a paranatural crisis is bleeding reality apart, and the Federal Bureau of Control's brand of bureaucratic weird-fiction spills out of the Oldest House and into the city streets. It keeps Remedy's telekinetic power-fantasy combat โ hurl objects, levitate, shield, and now shape Aberrant powers into forms all your own โ and wraps it in the studio's signature brutalist-meets-surreal style.
The big change is structure: Manhattan is carved into zones, each with its own level to raise, its own Resonant boss to topple, and a dense layer of side content โ FBC Tasks, Secret Hideouts (puzzle rooms hiding power upgrades), Thresholds, Mold Incidents, a karaoke rescue, even a stray dog to befriend. It's Control's uncanny atmosphere given room to breathe, with an RPG-ish spine of Talents, Artifacts and upgrades to chase.
It's confident, weird and stylish โ exactly what a Control sequel should be. Some of the open-world busywork is familiar, but the combat still feels incredible, the world is dripping with mystery, and for trophy hunters it's a generous, completion-driven platinum with no difficulty or online trophies to sweat.
Platinum Roadmap
The road to Interdimensional Protector
A relaxed 4/10 platinum โ offline, no difficulty trophies, and almost everything is cleanable in post-story free-roam. Budget 30–45 hours and just watch a few containment contracts.
1Play the story & beat the six Resonants. Push the campaign, defeat each zone's Resonant (the one in the Unknown grants Command), sever the Links and finish the Fault Rituals โ repairing the Mural in the Gap for the gold.
2Do the missable contracts before District 8. Knock out the optional containment contracts โ help Langston (Panopticon Intern), the karaoke rescue and the others โ before the District 8 story sequence to be safe.
3Level everything. Push Aberrant Strength 100, 30 Talents, Health/Power upgrades, every zone to level 5, and max an Aberrant Form. The Secret Hideouts hand out upgrades, so do those here.
4Cleanup & combat feats โ platinum. Finish FBC Tasks, Thresholds, Mold Incidents, the Sketchbook, Pope's research, outfits and the dog, plus the feats (Command a Breaker, 3 Perfect Dodges in 6s, Dominance 60s, SHรM!). Interdimensional Protector pops.
Watch the containment contracts. A few optional contracts (Langston/Altered Items, the karaoke rescue and similar) are best completed before the District 8 sequence. Everything else can be mopped up in free-roam after the story โ there are no difficulty or online trophies.

Interdimensional Protector

Story & Bosses 13 trophies
The campaign and the six Resonant zone bosses โ one per zone โ plus the Hedron, the Pattern/Hedron Links and the Fault Rituals, all leading to repairing the Mural in the Gap. Beating every Resonant is the backbone of the platinum.

Graffiti Artist
Details
Gold โ Complete the Mural in the Gap. The Mural is repaired by defeating every Resonant boss across Manhattan's zones. Once all zone Resonants are down, return to the Gap to finish the Mural and pop the gold. Tip: This is effectively your 'beat all the bosses' capstone โ the six Resonant kills below feed straight into it.

Repeating, Refracting
Details
Silver โ Kill the Hedron. A major story entity/boss. Defeat the Hedron during the critical-path mission it appears in. Tip: Story-mandatory; come with your powers levelled and shields/heals ready.

Stop it at the Source
Details
Sever all the Hedron Links. Destroy every Hedron Link scattered across the world (a set of objective points), not just the story-required ones. Tip: Track them on the map as you explore each zone; free-roam after the story lets you finish any you missed.

The First Link
Details
Sever the first Pattern Link. The first of the link objectives โ an early story beat that introduces the mechanic. Tip: Unmissable โ it's part of the main quest; you'll get it well before Stop it at the Source.

Sibling Reunion
Details
Complete all Fault Rituals. Finish every Fault Ritual (a recurring ritual-objective type) across Manhattan. Tip: Do them as you clear zones; any leftovers can be finished in post-story free-roam.

Enemy of My Enemy
Details
Help with the CFD. Complete the CFD questline/side objective on the critical path. Tip: Follow the mission thread when it's offered; story-driven.

Rescue Mission
Details
Rescue Arish. Complete the mission where you rescue Arish. Story-mandatory. Tip: Just push the main quest โ it triggers automatically in sequence.

Honorable Discharge
Details
Kill the Resonant in the Unknown. Each zone has one Resonant boss, and beating it clears that zone and counts toward repairing the Mural (Graffiti Artist). This Resonant grants the Command ability โ the power you need for Psychic Domination, so prioritise it. Tip: Level up before the fight โ Resonants hit hard. See PowerPyx-style zone walkthroughs if you can't find the arena; each zone's Resonant is well-signposted.

Astral Reconfiguration
Details
Kill the Resonant in the Underpass. Each zone has one Resonant boss, and beating it clears that zone and counts toward repairing the Mural (Graffiti Artist). Tip: Level up before the fight โ Resonants hit hard. See PowerPyx-style zone walkthroughs if you can't find the arena; each zone's Resonant is well-signposted.

Insidious Growth
Details
Kill the Resonant in the Park. Each zone has one Resonant boss, and beating it clears that zone and counts toward repairing the Mural (Graffiti Artist). Levelling your Aberrant powers โ Strength, Talents, Health/Power upgrades, Zone levels and Aberrant Forms. Most tick up naturally as you clear Manhattan; a few are one-offs from the opening hours.

Astral Potency
Details
Silver โ Reach Aberrant Strength 100. Aberrant Strength is your core power level; it climbs as you spend upgrade resources and clear content. Hitting 100 is a late-game milestone. Tip: Naturally reached by fully upgrading โ prioritise Strength nodes as you gather materials.

Versatile Expert
Details
Silver โ Unlock 30 Talents. Talents are unlocked in the ability/skill menus using points earned from levelling and objectives. Tip: Spend points as you earn them; 30 comes well before the platinum if you're clearing zones.

Personal Development
Details
Silver โ Obtain 4 Health Upgrades. Health upgrades come from exploration and from solving Secret Hideout puzzles. Tip: Cross-reference with Backroom Espionage โ Secret Hideouts hand out Health/Power upgrades, so you'll get both together.

Zone Warden
Details
Silver โ Unlock 40 Zone Upgrades. Zone Upgrades are the per-zone perks you buy/unlock as you raise each zone's level. Tip: Push zone levels (see Field Control) and spend on upgrades โ 40 stacks up across all zones.

Astral
Details
Silver โ Obtain 4 Power Upgrades. Power upgrades boost your abilities; found via exploration and Secret Hideouts. Tip: Same source as Health Upgrades โ the Secret Hideout puzzles are the most reliable route.

Astral Adept
Details
Max-out any Aberrant Form. Fully upgrade one of your Aberrant Forms (power sets) to its top tier. Tip: Pick your favourite Form and funnel resources into it rather than spreading thin.

Field Control
Details
Reach level 5 in every Zone. Each Manhattan zone has a level that rises as you complete its activities; get all zones to level 5. Tip: Do each zone's side content โ feats, tasks and cleanup โ and the zone levels follow. Post-story free-roam is ideal for topping up.

Promising Recruit
Details
Unlock a Talent. Spend your first Talent point. Early and unmissable. Tip: Open the ability menu as soon as you have a point and spend it.

Astral Construction

Purchase an Aberrant Upgrade. Buy your first Aberrant upgrade from the upgrade menu. Tip: Grab it as soon as you have the resources โ an early one-off.

Combat Rediness

Paranatural Artisan
Details
Silver โ Craft 30 Artifacts. Artifacts are your gear mods; craft them at the appropriate bench using materials. 30 total. Tip: Craft whenever you have spare materials โ you'll want good Artifacts anyway; it stacks up over the game.

Paranatural Craftsman
Details
Equip 3 Artifacts. Slot three Artifacts at once. A simple loadout step. Tip: Do it as soon as you have three โ pairs naturally with crafting them.

Psychic Domination
Details
Command a Breaker enemy. First unlock Command (from the Resonant in the Unknown), which turns enemies friendly when charged. Then use it on a Breaker โ an oversized Hiss enemy built of smaller Hiss (the rogue-bus Hiss Transporter is a prime example). Tip: Charge Command in a big fight, then aim it at a Breaker rather than a regular enemy. The Hiss Transporter encounter is a reliable spot.

Intense Precision
Details
Keep Dominance active for 60 seconds. Maintain the Dominance state (built by fighting/landing hits) continuously for a full minute. Tip: Chain kills to keep the meter topped up โ pick a dense enemy wave so you never run dry for 60s.

Details
Silver โ Gain a furry friend. Adopt/befriend the dog via its little side quest. Tip: A wholesome one-off โ interact with the dog and complete its short questline.

Backroom Espionage
Details
Silver โ Visit all the Secret Hideouts. Each Secret Hideout is a self-contained puzzle that opens an underground room with a Health or Power upgrade inside โ so this doubles as upgrade farming. Tip: Do these for the upgrades anyway (they feed Personal Development/Astral); a map guide marks every hideout entrance.
