A Cold War classic, and a stress-free platinum
Sixteen years on, Black Ops still holds up as one of Call of Duty's high points — a paranoid Cold War thriller of numbers, Reznov and buried memories, plus the game that turned round-based Zombies into a phenomenon. This PS5 re-release brings it back for a new generation, and for trophy hunters there's brilliant news: the platinum is entirely single-player.
Every trophy comes from the campaign, Zombies (Kino der Toten, "Five", plus the hidden Dead Ops Arcade and the interactive intro chair), and a touch of Combat Training against bots. There are no competitive multiplayer trophies — no grinding public matches, no server-dependent nightmares. It's the kind of list that ages gracefully.
The catch: Veteran
The one real wall is difficulty. BLACK OP MASTER and its mission-set silvers require finishing the campaign on Hardened or Veteran, and Black Ops' Veteran is old-school brutal — grenade spam, tight checkpoints, a couple of infamous set-pieces. Pair that with a handful of missable in-mission challenges and you've got a plat that's low-stress in structure but demands patience. Nostalgic, generous, and very doable with a guide.

Campaign on Veteran (grab challenges as you go)
Play the whole campaign on Veteran in one pass to bank BLACK OP MASTER (gold) and all five mission-set silvers at once. Knock out the missable challenges and pick up all hidden intel (Closer Analysis) mission by mission — replay any you miss via mission select.
Campaign clean-up
Mop up any challenge trophies you skipped (Frag Master, Sally Likes Blood, Unconventional Warfare, etc.) on easier missions — they carry over across difficulties.
Zombies & Dead Ops Arcade
Do the Zombies trophies (The Collector, revive tricks, the Pentagon thief), unlock Dead Ops Arcade from the main-menu chair (Just ask me nicely) for Insert Coin & Easy Rhino, and play Zork on the terminal (Eaten by a Grue).
Combat Training → platinum
Reach rank 10 in Combat Training (bots) for Ready For Deployment, then mop up anything left. The last one flips the Platinum.
