Call of Duty: Black Ops II · Trophy Guide

Campaign & Story

Story-mission pops plus Strike Force and the branching outcomes. Black Ops II famously has multiple endings driven by your choices and Strike Force results, so a few trophies need specific outcomes.

🎖️ A handful of trophies hinge on story choices and Strike Force results (Karma, Menendez's fate) — replay missions/segments to get every one. And yes: Big Leagues now just means Start the Campaign.

Singapore Sling

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Successfully neutralize the SDC freighter at Keppel Terminal.

TypeBronze
LocationStrike Force — Keppel Terminal
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyMedium

How to earn it

Win the Strike Force op to neutralise the SDC freighter at Keppel Terminal. From the overhead command view send your CLAW drones and squads onto the ship to clear the objectives, and drop into direct control of one unit whenever a firefight gets tough.

Tip

Direct-control a single soldier and let the AI CLAWs cover you — it's far more reliable than commanding everyone from the map.

Desert Storm

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Successfully escort the VIPs to safety.

TypeBronze
LocationStrike Force
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyMedium

How to earn it

Win the Strike Force op escorting the VIPs to safety. Scout ahead with drones from the command view and take direct control to clear ambushes before the VIPs walk into them; keep them alive to the extraction point.

Tip

Keep your ASD/CLAW units between the VIPs and the enemy as a moving shield.

Defender

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Successfully defend FOB Spectre from incursion.

TypeBronze
LocationStrike Force — FOB Spectre
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyMedium

How to earn it

Win the Strike Force op defending FOB Spectre. Spread units to cover each entry point, watch the overhead map for breaches, and jump into direct control wherever the line is about to break. Hold until the timer ends.

Tip

Set up on the objectives and let the enemy come to you rather than pushing out into the open.

Art of War

SilverFull guideCollapse

Successfully assassinate SDC Chairman Tian Zhao.

TypeSilver
LocationStrike Force — Dispatch
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyMedium

How to earn it

Win the Strike Force op to assassinate SDC Chairman Tian Zhao. Push your squad to the target zone from the command view, then take direct control for the kill.

Blind Date

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Successfully rescue HVI.

TypeBronze
LocationStrike Force
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyMedium

How to earn it

Win the Strike Force op to rescue the HVI. Clear the objective with your squad and take direct control to secure and escort the HVI to extraction.

Tip

Winning the Strike Force ops also feeds the story — success brings the fleet that Ship Shape needs.

Family Reunion

BronzeFull guideCollapse

There are two futures.

TypeBronze
LocationSuffer With Me
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyMedium

How to earn it

Mission 7 'Suffer With Me'. When you're handed the sniper rifle to take the shot, deliberately wound the target instead of killing him — put two rounds into the legs/arms rather than taking the headshot. Sparing him triggers Family Reunion.

Hey Good Looking

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Plastic surgery avoided

TypeBronze
LocationFallen Angel
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyMedium

How to earn it

Mission 5 'Fallen Angel'. During the flooded-city vehicle chase after the helicopter explosion, do NOT drive through the burning pipeline — hug the right side and roll slowly through the fire so you avoid the burns. Coming out unscarred ('plastic surgery avoided') unlocks it.

Showdown

BronzeFull guideCollapse

A duel between rivals

TypeBronze
LocationKarma → Achilles' Veil → Odysseus
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyMedium

How to earn it

Essentially the opposite of Good Karma — you let Karma be lost so DeFalco and Farid live.

Step by step

  1. Mission 6 'Karma' — let DeFalco escape, and skip the 'Second Chance' Strike Force mission so Karma isn't rescued.
  2. Mission 8 'Achilles' Veil' — kill Harper in the cutscene.
  3. Mission 9 'Odysseus' — it pops in the cutscene after the Briggs encounter.

Dirty Business

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Listen and think before you shoot.

TypeBronze
LocationOld Wounds → Suffer With Me
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyMedium

How to earn it

Two parts, and easy to fail. In Mission 3 'Old Wounds' you interrogate Kravchenko — do NOT kill him: when prompted, resist three times (tap the melee input rather than the kill button) so he survives. Then in Mission 7 'Suffer With Me', reaching Noriega pops the trophy.

Tip

If Kravchenko dies, replay 'Old Wounds' from mission select and hold back during the interrogation.

Ship Shape

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Reinforcements on the way.

TypeBronze
LocationStrike Force → Odysseus
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyMedium

How to earn it

Complete all Strike Force missions EXCEPT 'Second Chance' before you reach Mission 9, then shoot Admiral Briggs in the leg during 'Odysseus'. Winning the Strike Force ops is what brings the naval fleet — the 'reinforcements'.

Dead or Alive

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Jailor or executioner.

TypeBronze
LocationJudgment Day (finale)
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyMedium

How to earn it

Tied to Menendez's fate in the finale. Reach the ending where he's taken alive rather than killed — this follows from the 'good' path (save Karma via the Good Karma steps and succeed in the Strike Force ops). Get there and the story resolves with Menendez captured.

Tip

Because it depends on the whole choice chain, line up the Good Karma steps first, then replay the finale from select if it doesn't pop.

Ultimate Sacrifice

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Only one can survive.

TypeBronze
LocationAchilles' Veil
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyEasy

How to earn it

Mission 8 'Achilles' Veil'. During the interactive cutscene with Menendez and Harper, pick EITHER option — the trophy pops immediately after. You just need to reach and complete that cutscene.

Good Karma

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Crack the celerium worm.

TypeBronze
LocationKarma → Achilles' Veil → Odysseus
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyMedium

How to earn it

A three-mission chain to keep Karma (Chloe) alive — she then cracks the Celerium worm in the finale.

Step by step

  1. Mission 6 'Karma' — kill DeFalco; don't let him escape.
  2. Mission 8 'Achilles' Veil' — kill Harper in the cutscene choice.
  3. Mission 9 'Odysseus' — shoot Admiral Briggs in the LEG (wound him, don't kill him).

Tip

Do all three correctly on one save; if you slip, replay the relevant mission from select.

High IQ

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Collect all intel.

TypeBronze
LocationAll missions
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyEasy

How to earn it

Collect all 33 intel laptops — three per mission. Intel you grab stays collected, but the trophy only checks when you COMPLETE the mission, so always finish a level after picking up its intel.

Tip

Grab intel during your Veteran run so you don't need a separate collectible pass.

Back in Time

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Use a future weapon in the past.

TypeBronze
LocationA past mission
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyMedium

How to earn it

Use a future-era weapon during one of the four past missions — Pyrrhic Victory, Old Wounds, Time and Fate or Suffer With Me. Open the pre-mission Loadout, equip a future gun (the KAP-40 pistol is the easy pick), get at least one kill with it, then finish the mission.

Tip

Do this on the same run as Gun Nut — customising your loadout on a past mission covers both trophies at once.

Man of the People

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Stop the brutality inflicted by the PDF.

TypeBronze
LocationSuffer With Me (Panama)
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyEasy

How to earn it

During the Panama mission, PDF (Panamanian Defense Force) soldiers brutalise civilians at a scripted moment. Instead of walking past, shoot the soldiers to stop them — watch for the beating and act quickly.

Gun Nut

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Complete a level with customized loadout.

TypeBronze
LocationAny present/future mission
MissableNo — replayable
DifficultyEasy

How to earn it

Before most present- and future-era missions you get a Loadout screen. Change at least one weapon, attachment or perk from the default and complete that mission with your custom kit.

Tip

Equip a future weapon in a past mission's loadout to grab Back in Time at the same time.

Big Leagues

BronzeFull guideCollapse

Start the Campaign.

TypeBronze
LocationCampaign
MissableNo
DifficultyEasy

How to earn it

The infamous one — for years this required winning in League Play, which was shut down and made the platinum unobtainable. On this re-release it simply unlocks when you START the campaign. Begin the story and it pops.

Tip

This is the trophy that makes the BO2 platinum earnable again — nothing to grind, just start playing.
