Story, Endings & Difficulty

Avowed's story trophies are mostly unmissable critical-path beats — but the finale is where the platinum gets spicy. The three endings (Allochory / release Sapadal, Parasitoid / destroy Sapadal, Tyranny / join the Steel Garrote) are mutually exclusive, and you need all three. Make a manual save right before the final decision and reload to claim each — that turns three endings into one save instead of three playthroughs. Both golds (Avowed and A Test of Your Reflexes) come from a single Path of the Damned run.

TierStory

What it asks

Finish the main campaign and reach any of its endings on any difficulty.

How to earn it

  1. Play the story through to its conclusion in the Living Lands.
  2. Any difficulty counts — but see A Test of Your Reflexes to earn both golds in one run.
Do your main run on Path of the Damned and this pops alongside the harder gold.

A Test of Your Reflexes

GoldFull guideCollapse

Complete the game on Path of the Damned difficulty.

TypeGold
DifficultyPath of the Damned
TierStory

What it asks

Finish the entire campaign on Path of the Damned — Avowed's hardest difficulty, with far deadlier enemies and tighter resources.

How to earn it

  1. Select Path of the Damned (you can set it from the start, or — depending on the build — lower and raise difficulty, but the safest is to run the whole game on it).
  2. Lean on your strongest dual-wield loadouts, companion abilities and consumables.
  3. Completing it also unlocks the standard Avowed gold.

Pro tips

  • A ranged + magic build trivialises many fights; kite tough enemies and let companions tank.
  • Difficulty can usually be raised at any time, so if a section is brutal you can grind levels first.

Save Fior mes Ivèrno from being razed by the Steel Garrote.

TypeBronze
LocationFior mes Ivèrno

What it asks

Intervene to save the city of Fior mes Ivèrno from being burned down by the Steel Garrote during its questline.

How to earn it

  1. Reach the Fior mes Ivèrno confrontation with the Steel Garrote.
  2. Make the choices that save the city rather than letting it be razed.
A one-shot story choice — this conflicts with the full evil Steel Garrote path, so grab it on your main/good save and handle Tyranny on a separate save branch.

Allochory

What it asks

At the finale, choose to release the god Sapadal from imprisonment — one of three mutually exclusive endings.

How to earn it

  1. Reach the final choice.
  2. Select the option to release Sapadal.
Mutually exclusive with Parasitoid and Tyranny. Make a manual save right before the final decision so you can reload and claim all three endings without replaying the game.

TypeBronze
Ending2 of 3

What it asks

At the finale, choose to destroy Sapadal and take their power — a second mutually exclusive ending.

  2. Select the option to destroy Sapadal.
Reload your pre-finale save after Allochory to grab this without a second playthrough.
