Our Verdict

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is the crossover fighter Marvel fans have been waiting for. Arc System Works' hand-drawn anime style makes all 20+ heroes and villains pop, and the 4-vs-4 tag combat is built to welcome newcomers — simple auto-combos and an intuitive Assemble assist system — while hiding serious depth for the lab monsters. A generous slate of single-player content (Episode stories, All-Star Arena, combo trials) means you get your money's worth without ever touching online. A confident, stylish launch; the only real clouds are the usual live-fighter questions of long-term roster and monetization.

What we love

  • + Gorgeous Arc System Works anime art
  • + Stacked 20+ Marvel roster

Champion of the Universe — Full Roadmap

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a friendly platinum for a fighting game. There are no difficulty trophies, and crucially no online wins — every online trophy just asks you to show up. The list is a tour of every mode: clear the five Episodes, beat the Champion Course, tick off the combat mechanics, and grind out 500 battles. Only two trophies (the Champion Course and the 100 combo trials) take real skill; the rest is time.

🥊 The grind is the boss. The one long trophy is I Can Do This All Day500 battles (Offline Versus and Training don't count). Everything else is quick, so play every other mode first and let the counter fill, then finish it off with short Casual/Arena matches. No online wins are ever required.

Step-by-Step Roadmap

Step 1

Learn the basics & clear the story

Do the Startup Battle and a few Character Lessons, then clear all five Episode scenarios (five Silvers + The Watcher Gold) and beat the Promoter. Play a Versus match and win an easy Arcadia Rumble along the way.

Step 2

Arena & combo trials

Clear a beginner course in All-Star Arena (Heart of a Champion), then grind out the Champion Course (Gold). Knock out 100 combo challenges in Character Lessons for Weapon X (and Combo Aficionado).

Step 3

Combat-skill trophies

Tick off every mechanic trophy in normal play — Link Attacks, Slam Launchers, Breaks, Super/Ultimate Skills and the whole Assemble / Crossover family. Practice Perfect Reflect and Crossover Reflect in Training. Do Deadpool's secret commands (Gold) in Training too.

Step 4

Online participation

All online trophies are win-free. Enter the Lobby, play an Activity, make a Room, finish a Ranked match and 10 Casual matches, use a Sticker, follow a player, watch a replay and customize your avatar.

Step 5

Grind to 500 battles → platinum

Most trophies pop along the way. Finish the 500-battle count (I Can Do This All Day, Gold) with quick matches — Casual online and short Arena runs both count. When the last one falls, Champion of the Universe is yours.

Roster, Teams & Who to Play

The launch roster is 20 characters split into five teams — and those five teams are the five Episode scenarios you clear for The Watcher. You fight with a squad of up to four, so mix and match freely. It's a beginner-friendly cast, so lead with whoever clicks.

🟢 Beginner-friendly (green)S-tier / strongest (gold outline)
Easiest to pick up Captain America, Wolverine, Ms. Marvel, Hulk, Carnage & Blade. Cap is the single most beginner-friendly fighter — his Light → Kick → Heavy auto-string hits hard with no tight timing.
Strongest right now (S-tier) Black Panther (Shuri), Magik, Blade & Star-Lord — the best pressure, damage and combo potential at launch.
Best team for the Champion Course Bring a 4 you're comfortable with and lean on assists — e.g. a simple, hard-hitting point like Captain America or Blade, backed by strong assist characters like Magik or Star-Lord. Bank your Ultimate Skills for the final fights.

Character difficulty follows the game's own in-menu ratings; tier standings can shift with balance patches.

Detailed Trophy Pages

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to platinum MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls?
Around 25–35 hours. Almost all of that is the 500-battle grind (I Can Do This All Day) — the story, arena and skill trophies are quick, and the online trophies are participation-only.
How hard is the MARVEL Tōkon platinum?
PIXELFORGE rates it 4 / 10. There are no difficulty-specific trophies and no online wins are required. The only real challenges are the Champion Course in All-Star Arena and the 100 combo trials; everything else is just time.
Do you need to win online matches in MARVEL Tōkon?
No. Every online trophy only asks you to finish or participate — finish one Ranked match, finish 10 Casual matches, enter a lobby, make a room, etc. You never have to win a single online game.
Are there missable trophies in MARVEL Tōkon?
Nothing is missable within your account — you can freely return to any mode. The only caution is the handful of online trophies: they need the servers online, so don't leave them for years down the line.
How many trophies does MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls have?
39 in total — 1 Platinum, 4 Gold, 6 Silver and 28 Bronze — worth 1,260 points.
